@CTRoch Autry was overmatched from Day 1. Nice guy. Just not a HC from what I saw. But, as a result, many want to go "outside the SU family." Why? Because Boeheim picked the wrong successor? You wanna bring back the $ & fans. Bring back GMac & give him the resources to build a winner.

Boy, this is right on 🎯. Look - let's not make Hodgsdon out to be the next Bob Knight. 3 years as a head coach, folks. This is a $$$ play. He isn't going anywhere & 2nd good season w/USF and he could get the Kansas job. He's now just another new enemy to stoke GMac's fire. 🙏

@BajardiTroy you've got your signals crossed, my man. The Hart-Etan-Blackwell trio were long gone before GMac & Melo showed up in 2003. This game was 2005. But yes, that trio had the eventual nat'l champs on the ropes, up 16 in sweet 16 at one point in Auburn Hills. Mateen & MoPete rallied.

@RocDevo That was such a good team with Jason Hart, Etan Thomas and Blackwell who transferred in form Illinois. They started the season 19-0 and wa sup on Michigan State in the Elite 8…if I remember correctly.

It's my annual I Hate TJ Sorrentine Day because I see Vermont is good (again) & playing in for America East tourney title this morning. This was a 2005 stunner & truth be told, I admire his guts to take this shot. Still refer to deep 3s in games as a "shot from Sorrentine Range"

Same day Syracuse bows out of the 25-26 season, G-Mac and his @SienaMBB Saints march into the madness. 4 wins two years ago, now 23 and into the NCAA Tourney. Yeah, Gerry, Ryan Blackwell & Arinze know how to build a team and coach 'em up! Congrats!

Exhale. This team had enough talent to win more. Time to turn the page. March used to be so fun. Here's hoping it can be again ... because after I left journalism and became a fan again, it has stunk as a Syracuse fan.
