Nowadays, too many athletes spend the offseason upgrading the wrong things... New gloves. New cleats. New highlight edits. More camps. But none of that actually makes you faster or stronger. Two time state champion head coach for Sumner High school, Keith Ross explained it perfectly on the podcast: “You don’t need to paint the car and wax it… you need to go get a new motor.” If you want real results in your sport, the offseason has to be about building horsepower: - strength - speed - consistency in the weight room - showing up even when nobody’s watching The athletes who treat the offseason like an investment are the ones who dominate when the season starts. And like Coach said… The weight room doesn’t go on vacation. Want the full episode with Keith Ross? Comment PODCAST and I'll send you the link. @SumnerFootball @WSFCA1

@CoachFWilliams I would tell myself to delegate more and give assistant coaches more opportunities. Sometimes when we are young we feel like it’s us against the world, it’s too much to do by yourself. Hire people you trust and give them a job and let them take ownership over it.

@CoachShiffman The ability to hire quality/capable assistants is key. Do you take the job if you have limited or no ability to hire/change staff?

Football coaches - you’re taking over an average HS program. What’s are three things you need to happen to be successful? (Can’t say recruit/get better players)

@CoachFWilliams 1. Admin need to share vision. 2. Moms need to buy in(sounds weird but it’s true). 3. Weights teacher and coaches of Basketball,Baseball and Track , if not you or someone on your staff needs to buy in to what you’re selling.

High School Football players don’t get nearly the amount of food during the school day need with a school sized breakfast or lunch to help with their body development. As a supplemental meal we provide sandwiches between class transitions. #AllDAE

Your OC gives you a choice for a default pass pro which do you pick as your default. Always slide your OL to the Field. Or to the boundary. Drop your why in a comment if you don’t mind.
