I’m struggling with any Liverpool supporter failing to grasp Mo Salah’s motives for his incendiary Social Media post, in fact I’m bewildered by any negative response Can you REALLY not see why he’s done it ? It’s obvious the situation is toxic and the players have had enough of it and had enough of the originator of it as well and that’s the Manager Salah is the biggest voice at the club that has nothing to lose, he’s come to peace with his imminent departure but clearly not at peace with the reasons for it and to highlight those reasons and the diminishing effect they’ve had on the club and his colleagues that he’s literally prepared to possibly throw his reputation and integrity into the fire because it hurts that much He’s prepared to fall on his sword for his teammates he’s prepared to stand up and represent In one week in the stadium of public opinion Salah will call on the Anfield crowd and its dedication to the club and its appreciation of its standards over the last decade and to voice their opinion on their failure to be maintained Not his standards by the way, but the standards of collective professionalism that he and they have been previously held to and that are now so far away from as to be unrecognisable even to themselves They’ve all heard the boos and the disappointment and dissatisfaction of the Anfield crowd and they have come to realise that they agree with it So by doing it now with a week of the season to play it brings the matter to a head while it’s still live and whilst he’s still officially wearing the shirt He’s not throwing shade at things after his departure like a bitter scalded ex.
