Hey Canadians 🇨🇦 One thing that keeps coming up after Pierre Poilievre’s Diary of a CEO interview is his personal story — adopted as a baby, raised by school teachers in a humble middle-class home, his father later came out as gay, and he married Anaida, who came to Canada as a refugee from Venezuela. Yet a lot of people seem to really dislike him… while praising Justin Trudeau (raised with every advantage as the son of a former Prime Minister) and Mark Carney (the wealthy former banker). How did so many in Canada end up feeling that way? What do you think drives that difference in how people see them? Drop your honest thoughts below 👇 I’m reading every comment. #Poilievre #CanadaFirst

@DavidNobbs1 I suspect fertilizer price and availability might limit even more canola acres.

Stat can seeded acreage report out today. Lentils down 5%, peas down 12% and canaryseed down 6-7%. Suspect reds will rise and green lentils fall. But, this is old data and not likely really relevant due to canola rally.

𝐑𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐂𝐁𝐂 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬. 🇨🇦TORONTO — A Canadian couple has returned from a weekend trip to Texas visibly shaken after discovering that everything they believed about America — courtesy of a lifetime of CBC programming — was completely false. “We were told it was basically Mad Max down there,” said the husband, still processing the shock of being offered free brisket by a stranger. “But everyone was… nice? Friendly? Happy? One guy even held a door for us. CBC never prepared us for this.” The couple reported several disturbing moments, including: •Texans openly smiling •Zero people yelling about diversity training. •Gas that didn’t cost more than rent. •Locals casually saying “Yeah, we love Trump,” without collapsing into tears. “It was traumatizing,” said the wife. “I kept waiting for the violence CBC promised. Instead, people offered us sweet tea. At one point someone even apologized to us. That’s… that’s supposed to be our thing.” Upon returning home, the couple attempted to share their experience online but were quickly corrected by Canadians who have never been to the U.S. but “know the truth” from CBC explainer segments. The couple now faces an existential crisis: either accept that the American South is nicer than Toronto — or admit they’ve been living inside a taxpayer-funded fear bubble. CBC has already issued a counter-story reassuring viewers that the couple’s experience was “anomalous and unrepresentative,” adding that “Texans may appear polite because of cultural conditioning… or heatstroke.”🟥

Martyupnorth®- Unacceptable Fact Checker
Did you know that Canada's newest territory, Nunavut (carved from the Northwest Territories in 1999), runs a truly unique government? No political parties allowed. Zero. All Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) run and serve as independents, focusing on community consensus over partisan bickering. Votes stay fiercely non-partisan.

@mark_slapinski Let the Liberals finish their term so Canadians can learn their lesson the hard way. Poilievre needs to be frank and campaign with a Milei chainsaw in hand only promising blood sweat and tears.

@KenFost13595051 Agree. I’d buy one of those BYD ev trucks for the farm probably just as useful and cheaper than the side buy side we use around the farm.

FCC has announced it will be providing loans up to $500,000 to support canola growers because of tariffs. No thanks, I don’t need another loan. I need a market that pays fairly. Good place to start would be to remove the tariff on Chinese EV.

Good morning. We got a whopping 1/10 on most of the farm today. Baby steps. Today we head to Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Get to Custer and relax. Carney is so good at negotiations that we’re getting more tariffs and China gets a free ride. Saving Dairy and other marketing quotas a few billion vs killing billions and billions of other ag businesses is the liberal way—elbows up idiots.

@JSeimes Yet on the other side of the tracks a pristine 1/4 with no obstacles. 😅. Must admit I use to be a bit jealous but the services are nice to have and I don’t have to test the breakaways in the sprayer.

Two chem/fert dealerships, grain terminal, tire shop, and 12 oil wells. I’m really glad we have all these things so close by, but sometimes I wish all this stuff was in someone else’s field.

Farming Simulator should be more realistic. Graphite all over your face, probox lids flying off on the highway, hydraulic hose blowing in the back of the field on a Friday night, blown tire, trying to read a Co-op bill, hired hand wrapping the sprayer boom around a pole.

If you own a Home Services business and you’re pricing by the hour STOP. In home services there is a pricing paradox that occurs when quoting a job for a customer. Customers want the work performed to high quality standards and also done in a timely manner. Often as quickly as possible. Signaling that they value time. However, the second a plumber, electrician, HVAC contractor, etc gets the work done in less time that the customer anticipated, they have a problem with the price. Assuming they should be charged less because it took less time. That’s now how things work. You’re paying for experience and craftsmanship not an hourly rate. Contractors should be incentivized to maximize adding value to their customers. Not drag things out (or cut corners) because they need to hit a labor target. You’re holding back your talented team who could get the job done more efficiently if they were incentivized properly. You’re also backing yourself into a corner with customers by anchoring them with a labor allowance. Price by the job not the hour.
