We continue to collaborate with development partners to expand access to quality and affordable health care for our people. Am pleased with the steady progress in the construction of modern maternity wing at Nzoia Dispensary. The project is fully funded by @MPESA_FDN at a cost of Ksh 55 Million. The facility will include consultation rooms, a pharmacy, a laboratory, a modern maternity wing comprising a newborn unit, kangaroo room, labour, delivery and post-natal wards, as well as drilled and solarized water supply system. This will improve access to quality medical care, especially for expectant mothers and children.

We then proceeded to our second stop at the Kamukunji Recreational Centre, where we inspected the progress of the project, which is now in its final stages of construction and nearing completion. The development comprises a modern conference centre, a football pitch, a basketball court, and a recreation centre, all designed to serve the diverse needs of the community while nurturing and developing local talent. Once completed, the project will provide residents with a quality, affordable multi-purpose community centre alongside modern recreational facilities that will promote talent development, sports, social well-being, and an improved quality of life for the people of the area.

Risk Communication is critical when dealing with health emergencies like #Ebola. Sadly, the Kenyan case, both the US and GoK failed in this enterprise. Stakeholder engagement too was ignored. The result is the back clash we are witnessing now in Kenya.

Truth is this. Ebola will reach Kenya, not through the quarantine facilities but because corruption, fluid borders, and panya routes.

#Ebola from a Risk Comms point of view, Eastern Africa is a fluid system -socially. what this means is that someone can use porous borders (panya route) and land in Kenya. The US-Kenya deal, is safer because there's monitoring.

We remain committed to ensuring that every child in our constituency has access to quality education, leaving no student behind. At Kaggwa Primary School, we have commenced the construction of three modern classrooms for Grades 1, 2 and 3. The classrooms are fitted with terrazzo flooring for durability and ceiling boards to provide a more conducive learning environment. We will progressively enhance the school’s infrastructure to accommodate more learners and reduce the distance children travel in pursuit of education.
