Since switching to the Squish putter •sight dot instead of line •no line on ball, trusting my eyes/read •heavier TPT Pulse shaft • Ping man mid grip My speed and stroke has improved drastically. 3 putts ⬇️ PPR ⬇️ Proximity to hole on 1st putt way closer 👌

@RodDandyGolf Yes. It was in good shape. For this they had my age group playing from 5,700 but it felt shorter. The wind is always fierce there and was today.

@RodDandyGolf Ball back has its place but, most of the time it makes golfers want to stay back, when the balls forward you are enticed to get forward to the ball which helps with your low point.

When I was @MyTPI I gave Tom a quick chipping lesson. There are many ways to chip the ball well. However just like in the golf swing it needs to balance. What do you think his issue was?

@drakesmith__ Tee shots with trouble right , as my miss is usually a block right. If I have a tee shot with room right, those are my best tee shot swings, I swing w/more freedom or something. Need the same mentality even when there is trouble right, obviously :)

If there is a type of tee shot that makes you uncomfortable do this: Find the hole that mimics that tee shot on your course. Likely in the evening or early morning when there aren't a lot of players behind you. ' Hit 5-10 tee shots. Do this multiple days in a row if you can. Write down what you need to feel to successfully override your discomfort. Often it is just you need to swing normal, lock in on a target. We will often get quick from the top on a tee shot we don't like. The tee shot I hate is a dog leg right or a hole that moves right with trouble left. What is yours?

Most amateur golfers never fully get into their lead side. This is one of the biggest power leaks in the game and most people have no idea it is happening to them. This drill will tell you immediately whether you have the strength, stability, and balance to do what every Tour Pro does naturally. Stand on your lead leg only. Hit a shot. If you can do it with control you are getting into your left side the way you are supposed to. If you are wobbly, falling off, or have to bail out, you just found one of the reasons you are leaving yards on the table. This is not just a drill. It is an assessment. The ability to load and hold your lead side is not a swing thought. It is a physical capacity. Building strength and stability is a pre-requisite for building power.

The Tour average for scoring range is 10-15 shots for a player over the course of a year. A low of 62 and a high score of 75 is normal. Knowing this should shift your perspective on your own scoring range and what "consistency" actually means. This is where the Handicap can cloud reality in my opinion.

@drakesmith__ I’ve stood on a big cardboard box and had my kids trace my foot and ball position so I can reference back very easily if things go astray , low tech way to lock in key fundamentals 😁

TPI captures guys data when they are playing their best. Why? Because that becomes the goal. We often only worry about out swings when things are going wrong but I would encourage you to get video, journal your process, your practice, thoughts etc when things are going right. This will help you get back to where you want to be much quicker than some complete overhaul that may just be a glitch in your process that needs shored up.

@EffTruck The new budget Shotscope option is getting lots of press lately, but I’ve used the SwingCaddie SC300i for years. It can be used into a net, it has a practice target mode (specific distances), it is fairly accurate and ease of use is great. Also has a swing speed only mode.

@drakesmith__ I used the $ Taper 120’s for a long time, no complaints. Everyone experiences equipment differently, that I know. I switched to graphite a couple years back, went with KBS TGI 90’s. In general I like the KBS products.

@RodDandyGolf @drakesmith__ the courses you played when you were young always have a different weight to them. pine creek in the springs is a genuinely solid track for that kind of memory

@AugustaGolfGirl Global Golf almost exclusively. I fit by tinkering on course, Global Golf has a 90 day return policy, and there’s nothing better than taking clubs out where you actually use them. I’ve been underwhelmed by fittings, so I just tinker on my own now, plus it’s fun.

Where do you tend to buy your golf gear? Clubs in particular? Working on a project. Do you research online first, buy in person? Buy online? Get fitted? Swayed by ads or articles? (How long have you been playing?) Me: Ordered my current irons online long ago, been good to me. (Will get fitted for the next set.) ((Had custom before these.)) Custom fitted hybrid drivers from the Masters week tour trucks (I know, I know, lucky dog gets a bone every once in a while.) I do need a new big boy driver... Putter, ordered online from Sub70. Like it so far, plan on adding another putter down the road. (Want to send me something fun, @ScottyCameron?)

@drakesmith__ @RodDandyGolf Usually 2300-2600 is the sweet spot. But 2700-3000ish will still be ok depending on club speed. Over 110mph club speed and 3k+ spin and the ball starts to lift and balloon pretty quickly

If your driver spins too much you are giving up a lot of distance and accuracy. Get a new one. It is an investment that you are guaranteed to win back in your money games. 😆 But seriously you could be leaving some serious distance on the table.

@drakesmith__ @cashflowgolfer I like to fit by tinkering. I have a simple test, if I take a driver out to try and it goes the same distance as a 3 wood, it ain’t the one!

@RodDandyGolf Usually over 3k is where you start to see too much. With any of this stuff it usually depends, I live in Colorado I need a bit more to keep it in the air. I am definitely not a club fitter though. @cashflowgolfer might be a better resources.
