@CombatJoe1010 No. You have to prove that your extrabiblical teachings came from God. For example: the Marian dogmas are diametrically opposed to the Bible. How do you verify they are from God? When did God say the 2nd commandment doesn’t apply?

@CombatJoe1010 No. The problem is your assuming the written word is NOT all of God’s revealed word to us. How do you validate anything extrabiblical as coming from God? You are trusting in someone who says “trust me….its from God”. You cannot verify any of it outside of scripture.

If a God exists, demonstrate him. If you can't demonstrate him, have him demonstrate himself. If he can't or won't demonstrate himself and all we have to go on is the ancient hearsay of the Bible and "spiritual anecdote", then God is rendered indistinguishable from pure fiction.

Three ways to easy debunk Christianity. The trinity ✝️ Jesus Resurrection ✝️ The Noah Ark ✝️ These are my favorites because there’s no demonstrable evidence to show that these things were ever real. ⚡️

Icons are a type of the incarnation. They are not idolatry. We are not worshiping matter. As a former protestant, I understand why people make this mistake, but it almost always comes down to conflating the meanings of words in different contexts.

When christians begin bloviating regarding morals, remember they are immediately disqualified by their own bible. I'm done listening to morons whose instruction manual promotes slavery and holds women as 2nd-class chattel, drone on regarding moral value.

@ilikebigbiblez Tertullian attests it to being a development in 200. It likely was not an issue for Polycarp, Clement, and Ignatius,

Research shows that infant baptism was a development of doctrine. To claim that infant baptism is biblical, you must ignore tons of scholarly research that says otherwise. This is what convicts me to remain Baptist.

@oliverburdick Oliver has no idea what Christianity is. Christian’s have been praying to the saints since before his denomination, since before there was a canon of scripture.

If you... - Pray to Mary - Sing to Mary - Bow down to Mary statues - Believe Mary is sinless You are a Maryan, not a Christian.

“Nothing in scripture gives us any indication that there would ever be a necessary infallible system to interpret the Word. How would we ensure the interpreter gets interpreted correctly?” Except that scripture does point to exactly what would in the person hood of a Jesus and The episode with Philip, and Paul’s statement about the a church being the foundation and pillar of Truth. You guys have to ignore a lot is scripture to come out with Sola Scriptura.

🎸 Matt 🎸@ChristandGuitar·
Sola Scriptura gets mischaracterized constantly. Critics say that it leads to interpretive chaos. There's a certain sense in which this is true. If everyone has access to the Bible with no outside authority enforcing a strict interpretation, then yes, some people will twist Scripture and run wild. But the alternative is worse: binding every conscience to a human institution loaded with its own errors and doctrinal additions not clearly taught in the Bible. It's better to allow for error rather than dogmatically enforce it. Scripture itself is authoritative and sufficient. It is God-breathed. Nothing in scripture gives us any indication that there would ever be a necessary infallible system to interpret the Word. How would we ensure the interpreter gets interpreted correctly?
