Could not get thru phone lines to @SenWarren or @SenMarkey, so I went to their Boston offices to express support for an end to horrific violence in Gaza. This crisis affects acute, chronic, and multi-generational health. Their staff were so kind and willing to speak, thank you.

Did you know the first female crash test dummy for car safety testing was just introduced this past year? It's no wonder women are 73% more likely to be injured & 17% more likely to be killed in a car crash because cars have been designed to protect men.

Thrilled to see this paper out in the world!! We propose a decision tree to advance science and regulatory decisions on assessing chemical classes or groups. Thanks to @mvmaffini @SwatiRayasam @TraceyJWoodruff and many others for making this happen!

Adopt a class-based approach to evaluate chemical risks rather than evaluating hazardous chemicals one at a time. ehjournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11… @mvmaffini

It's a fair question to ask what the impact of 3 fossil fuel burning power plants has on the surrounding communities. Glad my report for @MassClimate was used in this hearing on the #PeabodyPeaker. You can hear more in my interview on the Climate Minute podcast.
Miriam Wasser@MiriamWasser

At a public hearing last night about the proposed Peabody "Peaker," North Shore residents and environmental activists were clear: They don't want more fossil fuel infrastructure, period. And they certainly don't want it in an EJ neighborhood. wbur.org/news/2022/12/0…

Three brand new flex posts obliterated within days of being installed on Mass Ave x Huntington. This is the intersection where a dump truck driver killed a cyclist four months ago. @bostonbikeunion @CityOfBoston

My research with @MassClimate shows populations who live near a new power plant in Peabody already have higher disease prevalence and live in #EnvironmentalJustice neighborhoods. Thank you @bu_urban for the support to do this work! #bgmp-comments" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">bostonglobe.com/2022/11/04/sci…

🥁drumroll please… I’m joining the faculty @RutgersSPH this summer to lead the Climate Adaptive & Restorative Environments (CARE) Lab. Very excited to start a program focused on the development of climate solutions to protect human health. #AcademicTwitter #climatechange
