Every morning before I open Slack, a bot scans all 83 of our active channels and sends me a report. What's overdue, what's waiting on us, who's gone quiet, who's traveling and will be slow to reply. Built it with claude with activity filters so it stays quiet about the channels I don't need to see. Really easy to setup and super helpful.

@mrblackstudio This was a very difficult book in the sense that it felt too dense with wisdom, the next "nugget" is right around the corner before youre able to actually implement the last one into your life meaningfully, because these changes usually happen slowly

Re-reading The Creative Act by Rick Rubin. It’s basically a book of tiny creative slaps round the face. Every few pages there’s another little nugget that makes you put the book down and stare into the distance for a minute. This for example: “The templates of the past can be an inspiration in the beginning phases, but it’s helpful to think beyond what’s been done before. The world isn’t waiting for more of the same. Often, the most innovative ideas come from those who master the rules to such a degree that they can see past them or from those who never learned them at all.” Learn the rules. Break the rules. Accidentally set a few on fire. The world doesn’t need another photocopy. Bend things. Push what’s mainstream.

We've had cloud infrastructure for years, but we didn't have coding agents. Agents started locally, but they quickly became bottlenecked by laptop resources, concurrency, and long-running work. The next step isn't replacing the developer workflow. It's making cloud feel like local.

I've come to learn that my worst work tends to come from stubbornly clinging to a singular idea that ends up overcomplicating the approach or limiting its potential. Also, my best work… so… who knows.

A pain I didn't hear on a single call before last year: founders telling me their own product looks AI-generated. They're right, and their customers can see it too. The tools are fine. We build with Claude Code every day. What's missing is someone with taste making the calls. Vibe-coding gets you a product. It doesn't get you judgement.
