@Iberia We’re extremely frustrated. Our lost luggage case has been closed despite the fact that both suitcases have trackers showing their exact location in Dominica. We’ve already sent your team screenshots from the Find Hub app. Why close a case when the bags are traceable? We want our luggage returned, not £1560 compensation. Please reopen this case and investigate properly. Your case ref E20202xx-710xxxxx

Gibraltar is in the news; so here’s a quick geography lesson for those who may not understand the challenge that Brexit put on this tiny British Overseas Territory. The border crossing into Spain is critical for so many livelihoods and is key to the agreement just reached. 🧵1/8

The RNLI need to be very careful. They do a great job apart from this and they seem to forget they are a charity. If their funds dry up because people are fed up they will cease to exist and won’t be able to do the other great work they do. They should not be going into French waters and, if their do, they should drop the people back in France.

I understand there's a large protest outside the RNLI headquarters today. People are fed up with the lifeboats picking up illegal immigrants from the English Channel. Obviously if anybody is in difficulty at sea, drowning, in the water, they should rescued by the RNLI whatever their nationality or intent. But I think we've all seen the videos and reports of the RNLI going into French waters and taking people out of the dinghies when there's no imminent danger. This is what must be stopped. Neither Border Force nor the RNLI should be going into French waters and interventions should only be made when a dinghy is in a perilous position and at risk of sinking. Surely France has a rescue service? What are they doing? What do people think?

Like Sunak before him Starmer promised to ‘smash the gangs’.Despite access to all the assets of the UK state - MI6, MI5, GCHQ, Special Branch, Police, Border Force and the Military how many gangs have been smashed? - Zero. Why do you think that is ? Answers in comments please.

Don't ever underestimate a Scottish police officer... A London lawyer runs a stop sign and gets pulled over by a Scottish cop. He thinks that he is smarter than the cop because he is a lawyer from LONDON, and is certain that he has a better education than any Scottish cop. He decides to prove this to himself and have some fun at the Scottish cop's expense!  Scottish cop says, "License and registration, please." London Lawyer says, "What for?" Scottish cop says, "Ye didnae come to a complete stop at the stop sign." London Lawyer says, "I slowed down, and no one was coming." Scottish cop says, "Ye still didnae come to a complete stop.  License and registration, please." London Lawyer says, "What's the difference?" Scottish cop says, "The difference is, ye huvte come to a complete stop, that’s the law. License and registration, please!"  London Lawyer says, "If you can show me the legal difference between slow down and stop, I'll give you my license and registration and you give me the ticket. If not, you let me go and don't give me the ticket." Scottish cop says, "Sounds fair.  Exit your vehicle, sir." The London Lawyer exits his vehicle. The Scottish cop takes out his baton and starts beating the living shit out of the lawyer and says, "Daeye want me to stop or just slow down?"

@RDPHistory I was posted from RAF Gibraltar in July 82 after being there for 3 years. The only way to enter Spain was either by boat to Estepona or flying first to Morocco and then to Spain.

June 27th 1982: In Europe, angst is rising over Spain's joining of the EEC and its refusal to reopen the border with Gibraltar, mainly out of solidarity with Argentina, as meanwhile, Mitterand opposes Spanish entry, calling it "another misery to the current miseries of Europe..."

The RAF's Typhoon FGR4 is no ordinary aircraft. It can go over 2000kph and has a maximum altitude of 55,000ft. It’s: 💪 The backbone to the RAF’s combat air capability. ✈️ Currently deployed on Op Chessman, the UK’s contribution to @NATO's Air Policing mission. #DeterAndDefend

The Unconventional Soldier Podcast
After seeing the old ROC bunker yesterday this was today's headline. The best way to defeat a nuke explosion for a soldier in the 80s was detailed in "Survive to Fight", an issued manual on NBC warfare. See pic on right. Simple drill but never convinced personally.
