I've had some cradle Christians confide in me that they're jealous I "got to" convert and be baptized as an adult this idea is nuts to me. most of us convert because we are miserable, it's not an easy path. it is an incredible blessing to grow up in the faith

so I mentioned universal salvation to my priest, and he brought up David Bentley Hart I told him most online Orthodox call DBH a heretic. my priest said outside of universalism, the clerical hierarchy considers him one of the most conservative and brilliant theologians alive

While frustration is understandable, nobody has an obligation to date another person. And we should be able to talk about the serious pastoral problem that is poorly socialized young men without being immediately labeled anti-male. A lot of these young male converts, and I speak as one, are just plain weird. And being weird hurts you in the dating world. It’s just how it is. Getting angry and repeating incel/misogynistic rhetoric doesn’t change that.

I just celebrated my third Pascha as a baptized Orthodox Christian, and I’ve been on this corner of the app for longer than that. I have never seen such united frequent attacks against the Orthodox Church as I have seen this week. Not saying I am some sort of seasoned expert, cuz I’m not. But it is curious, why now? You guys must really be bleeding converts to our Church.
