@Eternal_Kernal @LanceMcAlister We used to include a buffer zone on postgame reports. That is now gone with ABS.
English

@LanceMcAlister I actually think there should be a 2 inch buffer - inch inside the strike zone and one inch outside that is Umpire discretion. Meaning, if half the ball is inside that buffer, then it was whatever the umpire called it. But otherwise, call can be overturned.
English

Fun fact: these pitches show up as “undefined” on the postgame report because the ABS margin of error is larger than one tenth of an inch.
Isaac Collins Protector@MJ_Melendezz
Come on blue how do you miss that call
English

It's not ABS, but TrackMan says it's a strike 🤷

Noah Darling@noahdarling_
There's no ABS in Lincoln, NE tonight folks
English

@Todd4State @elizabethkeentv @HailStateClub47 Because they keep getting it marked as a missed pitch on their trackman reports and the NCAA is using those reports to select postseason umpires.
English

@elizabethkeentv @HailStateClub47 I do not understand why college umpires keep calling this a strike
English

@HailStateHQ @elizabethkeentv @skibolightning ABS is an entirely new system that will cost about $500,000 per school. Then they all need video boards with capability to display the challenge. All that money spent for something that will not be used in the postseason. Ain’t happening.
English

@elizabethkeentv @skibolightning The umpiring situation within the SEC has hit rock bottom. ABS challenge is the only answer.
English

@elizabethkeentv Trackman is the system in college baseball that measures where the ball crosses the front edge of the plate. I promise it’s possible for a ball to be a computer strike and bounce

@BBGreatMoments “Baseball’s Greatest Moments” has apparently never watched a professional baseball game.
English

From the home plate view, I see what he saw. In most levels of baseball, it’s nit picking. In the bigs, it’s the shit end of the stick.
Talkin' Baseball@TalkinBaseball_
John Schneider is as red as a human can possibly get while yelling at this umpire
English

@umpire1986 Every P4 conference averages higher than 93% because it’s graded differently and it’s one stationary box. It doesn’t adjust for each hitter.
English

This is what ABS looked like when measured at the front of the plate. I bet this is a correct call on his trackman report tomorrow.
SEC leads the NCAA conferences with data. Coaches complain if umpires aren’t at 96% or above. This is the result.

THE WORST STRIKE 3 CALL EVER. PATHETIC. JAY JOHNSON TOSSED
English

Tip my hat to Dan Hurley. This is a guy who respects officials, especially those at the top of his game.
The Field of 68@TheFieldOf68
Dan Hurley on the officiating 👀 “It’s hard to ref that game. We both played so hard… If I could have those three guys ref every game the rest of my career, I would sleep well at night.”
English

@MLBSpaces Instead of blowing hot air behind a microphone, ask this question to every guy who was called up from AAA within the last 24 months.
English

MLB opened a can of worms with ABS this year.
It only makes sense that they are all in or all out with ABS.
If the technology is there, a player shouldn’t get punished because their teammate blew a challenge
Foul Territory@FoulTerritoryTV
Forget challenges, @DavidPSamson says the ABS system should be calling all pitches. Thoughts? 🤔
English

@pradonmytake @operaman86 @Devon00541131 @jeremyrooks @gif_tannen Dudes like me? Opposed to former AA guys who are bitter and choose to never call games again? I’ve been in both MiLB and NCAA. Keep fucking up the easy rules from your living room though.
English

@RogueUmpire @operaman86 @Devon00541131 @jeremyrooks @gif_tannen I couldn’t call a ton of D1 games for the 7 years after Wendelstedt School because I was in MiLB.
Just worked February in various collegiate mid-weeks.
Always got a kick out of dudes like you.
English

@pradonmytake @operaman86 @Devon00541131 @jeremyrooks @gif_tannen There’s a reason Holliday (OSU skipper) didn’t blink. Batter didn’t argue either.
English

@Nicholaspkirby @MLBTV This might have something to do with gambling. The official scorers now have to make sure the stringer gets the official scoring into MLB app before it can be announced. Radio used to catch hot mic announcements in the press box before it could be officially scored.
English

I am begging @MLBTV to get the radio feed synced up with the TV broadcast.
English

@BobNapoleon Consider the manager and it becomes a lot less crazy.
English

Tony was consistently wrong in college baseball and it led to ejections. We knew it wasn’t going to change.
Talkin' Baseball@TalkinBaseball_
Tony Vitello’s first ejection happens because the umps say this is an out
English

@NatsRealist Mostly dedicated to educating the masses. When umpires are wrong, I call them out too.
