Future conspiracist. Huge into health gimmicks. That pitch definitely caught the zone. NW side of Chicago guy now arguably the coolest dad in 60005.

@BaseballQuotes1 Nobody in that stadium feels worse than that umpire. I promise you he did not sleep last night.

@BBGreatMoments P steps off properly and does break his hands albeit a bit delayed. I do not think this is a balk.

Super disappointing behavior by the third base coach here. Definitely played a part in the umpire's decision.

Back when Chicago was great. Dave Kingman and his mammoth home run in 1979. Kingman was a legend at Prospect High in Mt. Prospect. In his final high school game, he hit four home runs and pitched a two-hit shutout. On another note, let's flip Illinois red.

@under2catching That's one of the reasons it's the greatest game in the world. All of us learn "something new" every season.

Chris, If you square around and do not "offer" at pitch, it is not an automatic strike. This is a situation that no matter what happens, the umpire will get an earful. Must coaches are not aware of this. I usually error on the side of calling a strike. Falls under the category of "Game Management,"

So apparently you can hold the bat out in front of the plate on a bunt and not pull it back and its considered a ball? Question it and get told "its obvious you dont know the rule" WHAT?????

@tromblybaseball I believe in NFHS rules the fielder can use the outside bag if the throw is coming from the outside. The runner is supposed to use the fair territory bag when this happens.

@tromblybaseball I have watched thousands of games at all levels and I can't recall but maybe once, a fielder or batter/runner getting injured due to a regular base. Just going to cause confusion.
