I had a kid win the NJ state wrestling title his senior year, go on to be a D1 All American at wrestling and was my starting QB for 3 years and won 17 games. He wrestled at Fargo, all the big wrestling tournaments in off season, and never missed a football practice ever.

This take is tiresome.
You don’t get better at hyper skilled things by spreading yourself out. Other sports don’t help you hit a baseball better. Other sports don’t improve your touch in soccer. They don’t help your shot and ball handling in basketball.

@RollColls I agree in theory but if your HS competes for & wins state titles, you may need to play your 2nd or 3rd sport outside of school…pretty sure my 20 yo kid just won a men’s adult league batting title but he hits doubles not HRs, so he’s playing D2 tennis in fall, not baseball.

@MCameron008 My point of the post that everyone just complete goes past and get all defensive is “people” who tell kids not to play multiple sport’s. Those people don’t have the kids best interest. If the kid is a one sport athlete great.

@RollColls If you want to become excellent at a sport, you must eventually specialize. Exactly when should that happen? I think the answer is different for every kid and sport.
What about the kids that WANT to play just one sport?

@CoachVez4 @RollColls @Clownrefs_ Only 7% of HS athletes go on to play in college. If you're one of those, say top 2% going to D1, sure, specialize. If you're one of the 93% of other kids, play as many sports as possible, enjoy different settings, coaches, teammates. You're only in HS once and it goes by quick!

Terrible take 😭😭 most kids aren’t good enough to play multiple sports , and still put in enough work for their main sport to compete with others who grind full time! At some point you gotta lock in to your main sport unless athletically gifted. This take is why most be behind

This is for kids who have a dream to play a sport at the next level.. you can’t juggle unless you’re naturally blessed.. even a 4 star who is naturally blessed let 1 sport go

Unless you’re a freak athlete or naturally gifted.. if not hard to compete with ones who live in the gym consistently… I don’t even tell people not to play multiple sports.. I played two my whole life.. I don’t suggest it if you want to go to college for 1

@RollColls @CoachVez4 No, he is 100% correct. Almost impossible for a multisport athlete at higher levels to compete against players that focus train and do it year round. Stacking training is a thing. If you mean average players, possibly, but average players dont get D1 scholarships
