I am deeply disturbed by the reports of antisemitic incidents at Scarsdale High School. These reports demand a thorough investigation, and every individual responsible must be held fully accountable. At a time when the Jewish community is facing heightened threats and hostility, students deserve to feel safe in their schools - places meant for learning, growth, and community. No student should have to walk into their classroom in fear of the next antisemitic act. Prejudice, to any group, is not welcomed here. I will continue to advocate for an end to antisemitism and work toward building a community where every person feels welcome and safe, regardless of their religious affiliation or ethnic heritage.

Israeli espionage officials were approved by the Atomic Energy Commission to visit the exact uranium enrichment plant, NUMEC, in 1968 where hundreds of pounds of weapons-grade uranium disappeared, despite the CIA already investigating and finding evidence Israel had stolen it. The visiting Israeli officials were: • Avraham Hermoni, nuclear espionage chief of LAKAM and technical director of Israel’s nuclear weapons program • Abraham Bendor, senior Shin Bet officer, (deputy director of Shin Bet covert operations, later became head of Shin Bet) • Dr. Ephraim Biegun, Shin Bet technician/operative • Rafi Eitan, who later ran LAKAM and handled the Jonathan Pollard Israeli spy operation against the United States. NUMEC was run by Dr. Shapiro, a Jewish American Zionist who was an officer in the Zionist Organization of America, a constituent of the Israel lobby JFK demanded to register as a foreign agent. Shapiro had deep Israel government ties, had 51 FBI reports made about him, worked for the ADL, and was a close colleague of Ernest David Bergmann, who went on to become the father of the Israeli atomic bomb. The funding for NUMEC was arranged by David Lowenthal, a confidant of Israeli Prime Minister Ben-Gurion and Haganah volunteer. The Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) was chaired by Dr. Glenn Seaborg at the time visits from Israeli espionage officials were approved. Dr. Seaborg was a Jewish American scientist who helped cover up for NUMEC when the missing uranium was first detected, by telling the FBI there was no need for an investigation, despite the process and control records from that time being conveniently destroyed in an “employee strike.” When the FBI and DOJ wanted to revoke Dr. Zalman Shapiro’s security clearances, (because of the missing weapons-grade uranium and Israeli government ties), Dr. Seaborg refused, as chairman of the AEC. The AEC had the final authority to revoke security clearances for people working at nuclear facilities like NUMEC. They overruled the FBI’s concerns and kept Shapiro’s clearance intact for years, even after the CIA had already found the U.S. isotope signature outside of Israel’s Dimona nuclear site. In a now declassified private journal entry, Dr. Alan Seaborg later wrote: “What good would it have done if we admitted that highly enriched uranium was stolen and given to Israel?” The uranium was being stolen from NUMEC during the exact time period that JFK was pressuring for unrestricted access to Israel’s nuclear program because he suspected they were making weapons and wanted to shut it down. The Zionist Organization of America that Dr. Zalman Shapiro was a national officer for was a constituent of the exact “American Zionist Council” Israel lobby register as a foreign agent after having them investigated by the DOJ. JFK was kiIIed less than 5 months after giving Israel his final ultimatum about their nuclear program. Aside from being a huge supporter of Israel, LBJ’s aunt was an active member of the “Zionist Organization of America” Israel lobby that Zalman Shapiro worked for. After assuming office as president when JFK was kiIIed, LBJ ceased all pressure over Israel’s nuclear program, increased arms sales and military aid to Israel and quietly dropped the demand for the Israel lobby to register as a foreign agent.
