@SaffronOlive Well, yea if you think you can win the game then it makes sense to not pay the 1. But if you're not in that position there is no sense in giving card advantage to your opponent

I know people like to say "if everyone just agrees to pay the one then it does nothing," but that requires trusting that two of your opponents won't just stop paying when they are ready to win the game, which I'm pretty sure would be the correct thing for them to do. Plus, even if that plan works, a one mana tax on every spell is still great for the Rhystic player.

I know I like to meme around about never paying the 1 for Rhystic Study, but I'm also not convinced it's even correct to pay the 1 (or at least always/regularly pay the 1) in a four player game like Commander.

@PinkThorns_09 Why does it matter if they're the real ones? They're still the characters that we followed throughout the show. Their struggles and feelings are real. It doesn't matter if the real ones are safe, because the actual characters still have stakes in the story
