@CedricAPhillips This would be a bold prediction, if it wasn't dated for in 3 (!) years, when 75% of coaches don't stay for 5 years anyway.

I've recommended worm to a few people. No one who's ever started it has failed to finish it, and it's longer than Harry Potter or the cosmere. Read worm.

In the latest episode of “With Stugotz & Hochman” we look back at maybe the most memorable caller in show history— Lombardo. (After the ep dropped, I’ve been inundated w/ DMs from listeners sharing Lombardo’s obituary—BUT it’s his dad’s obit. We believe Lombardo is still alive.)

@stephamu @blakepr Tons and in the comp brawl format where it is also mid and likely to not be very impactful at all. Especially not format crippling

@NateDuncanNBA I would defer to your memory, also not important in Kerr's context. They were certainly pushing it and proving it at the highest levels. It helps that he had Draemond, but that's the nature of the beast.

Emphasized more ball movement and most importantly reads and improvisation offensively-concepts more than sets. First high level team that switched a lot and went small doing it. First high profile putting center on wing non-shooter. First offense built on off ball movement for 3s.

@NateDuncanNBA Out of curiosity why Steve Kerr ? just because there's less pnr now ?

@Tlgtpc95Ryan @blakepr Did you play a lot of brawl at the time? There was a wide variety of decks. Azusa strip mine, Golos strip mine, Etali strip mine, Nashi strip mine, Tatyova strip mine. So many players just wanted to strip mine. It was cool for a week and then got very old, very fast.

@RaniaKhalek Exactly. I spent an hour this morning calling Democratic offices...mostly crickets, "we'll pass your comments along to the Senator," etc. @SenSchumer and @RepJeffries ain't doing squat as far as I can see @DNC

Why is there no one in the U.S. government stepping up to stop this insanity? The president of the US is openly threatening genocide against a country of 90 million people, saying “a whole civilization will die tonight.” No mass resignations and the opposition party is absent. What sick death cult. Unbelievably and shockingly dangerous.

@NateDuncanNBA It was an honest question. I remember the broader discussion at the time that some teams wanted to switch everything, while there were significant holdouts. Hawks were the first team to do it successfully, but I could be wrong. Arnowitz talked quite a bit about it, i believe

@stephamu I don't recall that team doing that much switching--I remember for sure the next year they were more of an aggressive coverage team. But if you have more info on that feel free to disabuse me of the notion. Also, GSW was doing 1-4 that year which was considered innovative.

Hottest take; whilst I do not enjoy the format, casual Commander plays to Magic's strengths better than any other constructed format. Magic's deep deckbuilding works at its best in a setting that actually rewards creativity, meanwhile high variance compliments the casual setting

@righttimebomani @bomani_jones The high intensity game is not sustainable. Nobody wants to see everyone standing around while one guy isos. So it's either reducing the games or making the product worse. Second one sounds much worse

@CoupNBA It's a flawless movie until the climactic battle, which needs an enormous amount of suspension of disbelief, because they all should be vampires in 45 seconds. It felt like Coogler just wanted to skip to the end

The thing about Sinners that people seem to be catching on to more lately is that the first hour is the best part and one of the best ensemble introductions and world building sequences in any horror movie ever made.

@NateDuncanNBA If the Magic enact a major overhaul of their roster this off-season, should they move on from Suggs, because they will never be able to rely on him. Conversely, is a Black/Bane backcourt a viable alternative

@NateDuncanNBA @DannyLeroux What's the reason for the Celtics' defensive longevity? They have been good for a decade plus with completely different personnel. Is it organizational or "just" coaching/scheme? Organizational, meaning drafting, scouting, development.

@funk_a_lunk @billythekiddie_ The argument would be that it allows them to change the prize structure again retroactively, but this time to make it worse for players. So, basically slippery slope Still not a good argument, but at least somewhat coherent
