I was a huge fan of the Police Quest series by Sierra. The fact that a retired police officer was heavily involved with the design always made it feel pretty epic. And you could die a gazillion deaths if you weren't careful. Which part was your favourite among the 4?

High-speed racing with a baseball bat - what could go wrong? Road Rash always felt a bit like a Mad Max version of the Ben-Hur chariot race. Instead of ancient Roman chariots thundering around a dusty circus, you’ve got a pack of leather-clad maniacs on motorcycles in the world’s most psychotic street race, hitting and kicking the crap out of each other. This game was nuts... and ultimately really fun!

@exQUIZitely I never had a computer that would play UU1 or UU2 when they came out, and for some reason I've been unable to go back and play them. I just can't get into them. And I'm not a graphics whore or anything. Would rather play a gold box game. Is it worth it to force myself to try?

Ultima Underworld II: Labyrinth of Worlds was developed by Looking Glass Technologies and published by Origin Systems in 1993. Gameplay is non-linear, letting you roam freely through huge, multi-level environments, solve puzzles, fight in real time, and interact with NPCs. For its time, it was highly innovative. It featured a fully explorable 3D world (no grid-snapping like older dungeon crawlers). The physics and object interactions were next level: you could pick up, drop, throw, stack, or combine almost anything. Want to build a staircase out of crates? Go for it. Pile junk to reach a high ledge? Sure thing. Knock over a table during a fight? It all worked. This level of interactivity was unheard of in 1993 - at least nothing close comes to mind. As an old-time Ultima fan, I was skeptical when I heard about an action RPG spin-off that diverged so much from the original concept. But boy, was I wrong; it was a blast!

What this means is that when you reload, you reload an ENTIRELY NEW magazine, meaning that you can't mindlessly top off your gun. Whether you reload after using just one shot from a new magazine, or you have only one bullet left, it doesn't matter. A new magazine is a new magazine. Completely changes the game dynamics.
