I think the reason is probably that we might come from a small country, but we have a long border with Russia, over 800 miles, and we have our own historical experience with Russia from World War II, the Winter War, and the War of Continuation. And if I look at the silver lining of where we stand right now, we found a solution in 1944, and I'm sure that we'll be able to find a solution in 2025 to end Russia's war of aggression and get a lasting and just peace.

I am Ukrainian, but I speak Russian far better than a native Russian. Russia is the kind of place where, if you ask who wrote the novel War and Peace, you’ll hear the answer: Lermontov. What kind of culture are these people trying to spread? I am Ukrainian, and yet I admire the works of the Russian poet Yesenin—while most Russians don’t even know who he is. Arkhangelsk, Vorkuta, the Republic of Tuva, Karelia… What do these names evoke? Poverty and endless drunkenness. I don’t want that kind of life for my children. Stay away from everything Russian, friends. There is nothing more horrifying than the so-called “Russian world.” Filth, moral decay, primitive thinking, the inability to think critically, analyze, or draw conclusions. I can’t even compare them to animals—because that would be an insult to animals. They are nothing more than a rotting, decaying mass of biomass. Stay away from the “Russian world,” friends.
