It's DOOM’s 32nd birthday today! It amazes me how far this rebellion of a game has travelled. We wanted to build the the greatest game we could imagine playing, and generations of players have kept it alive. It’s one of the great privileges of my life.

@romero, this is a silly question, but does the rejection letter from Nintendo for Dangerous Dave in Copyright Infringement still exist (or ever exist as a physical letter)? I think it'd be an amazing artifact of gaming history if you still have it in a box somewhere.

One of the tougher animations I’ve worked on, but so rewarding once it came together. It took me many iterations before getting it to this stage. The cannon arm raising to aim at the player is a nod to the Cyberdemon from DOOM (2016). #DOOM #GameAnimation #GameDev #idSoftware
