I don’t even know how to really start this, but here we go. A huge thanks in advance to those who give me 5 minutes of their time. Yesterday i reached a huge milestone with my piece Friends. I’ve officially now been working on this piece of art for 4 years! I never imagined that this piece would become such a huge part of my life, but it has. I want to share this full update with you all so you guys can see where the piece stands today. To be honest there is still a ton left to do, lots of revisions and more cool things i want to add & i wake up every single day excited to continue to nurture and sculpt this piece one character at a time. This update is special in its own right because i have finally created a website solely dedicated to this piece! Here you can see from the very beginning sketch to what the piece looks like now! There are even some descriptions under certain images that tell a little bit of how certain characters came to be. This is still a work in progress and i will continue to add descriptions as i go. One of the main reasons for the site is so people who are genuinely interested can view the piece and works in progress as they are intended to be viewed. I know posting here is not the best as it kills the quality so my hope is that all the little details can become more easily visible and appreciated. Laying down thinking about my time in the space, what I’ve done so far & how I’ve chosen to move. I don’t have any regrets. The fact that this is just my 7th 1/1 since joining in 2021 is a testament to my character. I’ve done what I said I would do, I’ve never fucked anyone over or put out any work I wasn’t 100% in love with. In a lot of ways I’ve gone against the grain & maybe that’s why I don’t have the support that many of my peers do. All I ever wanted and still do is to be able to create what I want, when I want in my own time. I know I’m not constantly putting out work & maybe that’s why most big collectors don’t believe in me because I’m not constantly providing value, but best believe when I say this, I am focused on creating a legacy built upon a rock solid foundation. No gimmicks, no bullshit , just pure raw passion & determination immensely focused on a long lasting legacy. Most that read this, will probably be like “yeah whatever man” but you should never bet against a man who keeps showing up. I want to thank my 7 1/1 collectors (1 piece is co owned by 2 amazing people) From the bottom of my heart , because of you all I’ve been able to financially survive so far and been able to keep my dream alive. Hopefully an 8th collector out there sees the passion burning inside me & realizes that this mfer who came from nothing is someone who will leave a long lasting legacy behind once it’s all said and done. Sometimes all we need is just one person in the right place with the right connections to set everything in motion. Just some thoughts, self reflection on a beautiful Sunday morning. GM
