I don't really think we have any idea what UBI would do to us as a society. The main thing I guarantee it will do - without price fixing - is drive the price of everything up, effectively causing even more inflation. If consumers have more money at baseline, producers will charge more for their goods. That's just the reality of economics.

Could UBI end homelessness and hunger in America, or is it too simplistic?

This! I've often said that I agree with Einstein: Never memorize what you can look up. ( I'm paraphrasing) I have, in fact, turned down jobs when I felt the technical interview was ridiculous. Not that I couldn't have done what they were asking, but because I knew I didn't want to work with those people.

@askaya I'd say a 5. It's something I considered, but not nearly as important as other things. I'm happily married, and my wife is beautiful, but that was not the main thing I was looking for. What's More important? Laughter. Loyalty. Intelligence. Spending money wisely.
