Financing, favored banking + grants still awarded to business on #of disabled/vet hired. Considered special class d/t ADA + military back to public work programs.

Barack Obama fired nearly 200 Generals and Admirals who had risen through the ranks to earn those positions DURING WARTIME. President Trump is firing Generals who rose through up through the ranks to their positions via DEI during peacetime.

Don't get me wrong. We are evaluating our program daily but I like its branching out and not missing qualified ppl

The case I made was instead of going to 86% white male event in HC...go to women's conference, Asian festivals, interfaith conferences, blackexpollence symposium, High efficiency disability schools, Vet sites.

@CriticalPlinker @Lor_blueeyes @shipwreckedcrew We also diversified number of middle age, high-school, job program we attended and bought in teachers to make sure everyone had the metrics and training needed for these jobs that are rapidly changing. Testing, training, merit to advance stayed the same. Have to do the work.

@CriticalPlinker @Lor_blueeyes @shipwreckedcrew Johnnis right that DEI does encompass more than race but the benefit of society and policies in the past were geared to a particular race/ gender. DEI tries to open the opportunity for those beyind that narrow subset. I think it can be done.

@realtimsharp I've never been loyal to any frigging president. I may agree with some of their policies or not but we don't have kings and I reserve to the right to criticize them.

@CriticalPlinker @Lor_blueeyes @shipwreckedcrew I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree. Like I said. No easy answers. It's not a one solution fits all issue. Nothing is in these type of personal issues. But I understand your anger and disappointment around some of these issues.

@RonniRN @Lor_blueeyes @shipwreckedcrew Whew… cuz that’s a whole can of worms right there and it royally pisses me off…and yeah DEI practices are hugely to blame…. Still not ready to chat about it in any kind of civil manner though.

@CriticalPlinker @Lor_blueeyes @shipwreckedcrew And we sure as hell can not go down the road of DEI in regards to youth i. Mental health and inclusivity. I don't think you and I would have many points of agreement on that issue. It is a VERY hot boiling issue for myself as well. It is for society. No easy answers.

I was just trying to give example of how DEI can work with the way our hospital has been doing it in a form. We haven't dumb down the standards but instead have broadened our outreach into diverse communities.

@CriticalPlinker @Lor_blueeyes @shipwreckedcrew But I agree there are so many issues that are minefields in HC. I'm a level 1 trauma ER certified nurse and I see it everyday. And you are correct that it is a mess. And we'd probably need a podcast between us to go in to it. My point was there are ways to do DEI fairly.

@NotAvgLiberal I can't get over how the 'Biden gas prices are ridiculous' and 'no new wars' people now love high gas prices and new Middle East wars. The goal post movement is astonishing. It's almost if maga stands for absolutely nothing.
