Today, in Washington DC, @CAGovernor Gavin Newsom had bipartisan meetings on and off Capitol Hill. While meeting with EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, the Governor discussed wildfire recovery efforts and funding in Los Angeles, as well as ongoing contamination in the federally managed Tijuana River. Afterward, he met with Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries about the urgency of protecting our democracy.

Just wrapped up a series of meetings in Washington. Despite strong, bipartisan support in Congress for long-term relief to rebuild from the LA fires, we're still waiting on the White House to officially send our request to Capitol Hill. Let's get the job done, @POTUS.

Last month in Virginia, the people made their voices heard at the ballot box and voted for new Congressional maps. Today, the Virginia Supreme Court ignored the will of the people and overturned those democratically chosen maps. This ruling gives a boost to Donald Trump's effort to rig the 2026 elections and the Republicans' long game to attack voting rights. We are rightfully outraged, but we will not give up. We must continue our fight to restore the power of the people.

"I got my time, I got my shot, I took my shot." The shot was ordering a review of Disney's broadcast licenses one day after Trump called for Jimmy Kimmel's firing. The shot was investigating The View over an interview with a Democratic Senate candidate. The shot was using the FCC's licensing authority as an instrument of presidential retaliation while calling it bold. The FCC's Democratic commissioner called it an assault on free speech. ABC called it a threat to decades of settled law. Carr called it his shot. "There's not a lot I can do to improve upon my obituary or make it worse at this point." He's right about that.
