It’s officially been 20 years since Doug Mirabelli’s police escort to Fenway Park after being traded back to the Red Sox.
His plane landed just 12 minutes before first pitch and then he went and caught 7 strong innings from Tim Wakefield.

One more thing on NBA lottery reform ⬇️ The current odds, established in 2019, are already significantly flattened from the odds the league used from 1994 to 2018 That change did not reduce the tanking problem

@KDimitratos Or managers could just hold the remote workers who aren't getting work done accountable, instead of penalizing everyone.
In my experience, managers don't seem to know if employees are working hard unless they visually see their butts in a cubicle.

This is happening because many of you take remote jobs and:
• disappear throughout the day
• don’t work a full week or full-time
• makeup excuses on why your deliverables are late…
Then your employer penalizes everyone with RTO or installs software that literally records everyone’s screen.
Your boss knows
IT knows
Your boss’ boss knows
HR knows
Just do what you signed up to do in the job description. It isn’t different because you’re fully remote.

@going_concern Seems like it doesn't even matter. Big 4 is like McKinsey or other big consulting firms. Clients hire them to provide a veneer of legitimacy.

@LoganGrafTax I remember seeing Reddit threads about entry level accountants making less $ per hour in public accounting than if they worked fast food. And people wonder why there is an accountant shortage.

Starting pay for new accounting grads was $50,000- $75,000 in 2015.
In 2026, its $60,000-$85,000.
Factor in inflation, and accounting salaries haven't improved over the last 10 years.
