The Formula 1 pit isn't just one lane - It's actually three. The outermost lane is called the fast lane. This is primary lane drivers must use when they enter or exit the pit. Next to it, is the transition lane. As the name suggests, this lane is for transitioning from the fast lane to the actual pit lane.
