@sludgewilliams Because of they’ve been mediocre since ~2013 and still doing same things since. Nothing changed. Right now, there are only maybe ~5 teams in worse situation (even for the future).

@RonoAnalyst How do you know they don't know how to build a winning team?

The Flyers are on pace to finish the season three spots below the wild card with 94 points. The Ducks are on pace to win the Pacific with 94 points.

@sludgewilliams I see much more negative signs than positive signs, unfortunately. And the main problem is still they have no idea how to build a winning team. Mediocre team always.

@RonoAnalyst I'll continue on my personal account because I don't feel like messing up the BSH stuff. You are complaining about the season not really mattering because they're not tanking, or in the playoffs. But there are reasons to care and positive signs of future success.

@BroadStHockey And yet, you’ve talked about wingers only. Drysdale has been playing at TOP4 D level. Which is good, yes, but not anything special.

@BroadStHockey What individual performances have to do something with team results/points? Yeah, their development is important. Not team results.

@RonoAnalyst @BroadStHockey In your mind, what has improved under Tocchet? To me its main you signed a competent goalie Power play and penalty kill nothing 1% of last year. Style of play is boring. Trying to be positive but not seeing much

Leon Draisaitl will miss the remainder of the regular season with a lower-body injury. Definitely a big loss for Edmonton.

To my North American friends and the hockey community: Although you are far from Europe and may not see or feel the reality of russia’s actions - killing hundreds of people in Ukraine daily - we in Europe see it clearly. We are telling you that letting them back into international competition is not an option until russia gets the F out of Ukraine. To North American hockey journalists: start asking the right questions. Ask rus players how they feel about their country occupying neighboring nations. You will be "surprised" by the results.
BucciOT.Com@Buccigross

Russia should be among the 8 teams. Undoubtedly. Russian players decorate the NHL with their skill and commitment. To deny them is a slap in the face to players Nikita Kucherov who dedicate their lives to improving their skill level--at their benefit, yes--and thus enhances the entertainment value of the sport. Be above the sanctimonious and filth-muck of politics and politicians--the dregs of the earth. We are watching a hockey tournament.

Daniel Briere and Keith Jones have both alluded in the past few days that fans are impatient and want to win “next year”…emphasizing that these things don’t happen overnight. This couldn’t be further from the truth...most fans on here are just rightfully questioning where the 1C and 1D are coming from. We know these things don’t happen overnight. We’d be more than happy to suffer long-term because the franchise hasn’t made the 2nd round with fans in attendance for 14 years. But they’re doing another retool and never rebuilt. Our only top five pick (Chuck’s pick) is in Anaheim. The organization thought they would make the playoffs this year (still a 5.4% chance). Now we’re most likely drafting in the mushy middle again. The cap space cleared means nothing if there’s no free agents available to move the needle. Briere can still pull off trades to make this happen, but we all know “trades are hard” and there’s quite a few teams with better assets to pick from. They jumped the gun on a few extensions and didn’t draft high enough. Now we’re stuck in this boat again. I’m sure Martone and Michkov will be electric #Flyers long-term, but winger is the least valuable position and it’s our only surplus. Could the Flyers make the playoffs a couple of times in the next few years? Maybe, I guess. Is there a perennial contender forming here? Extremely unlikely…they weren’t bad enough.

Flyers President of Hockey Operations Keith Jones on if he is happy with the state of the rebuild for the Flyers: “I do, I think we all would love to rush it and make it happen quicker, but that’s not the way it is and the environment we’re in today. One of the things that we’re really happy about, is we are alleviating a lot of the cap pressure that we have had in the past. A lot of the deals that we had to work out of including the Kevin Hayes deal, the Ryan Ellis deal, the Cam Atkinson deal, all that money is starting to come off the books. That I’m really excited about, and that was one of the objectives Danny [Briere] and I had when we took over, was to clean up the [bad contracts]… The other part of it was to add younger talent and to accumulate draft picks, and we’re starting to put those picks into play. Allowing the players enough time to fully develop, not to rush them, but to watch them grow, and hope that our assessment of where they will end up in the future align and they’ll end up being a big parts of the franchise as we move forward. Those things I think are all in a really good place and I’m really excited about the future". (Kincade & Salciunas) 📸 - Emilee Chinn/Getty Images

The San Jose Sharks have re-signed Ty Dellandrea to a two-year deal with an AAV of $1.625M. Very good contract for Dellandrea.

@RonoAnalyst What kills me is that there's no real pushback from the org. They need to get this under control and considering they're not, lead me to believe they're ok with it. Just trade him. I've had it.

@RonoAnalyst People will say “they are just depth” and “the assets we gave up was nothing.” Those same people said criticized GMKM for spending a 2nd on Beck. A depth player. An asset that was nothing. Bad trades are bad trades. Doesn’t matter what the assets are.
