I wasn’t surprised that the Capitals were the team that acquired him before the TDL for a lower price. Washington likes these kinds of reclamation projects, and I liked the trade as well. I like what Washington has been doing ever since they hired those CapFriendly guys.

The Washington Capitals have re-signed Timothy Liljegren to a two-year deal with a $3.25M AAV. He has always been an analytics darling. This is a solid deal for both sides. Liljegren should be a good 3rd pairing defenseman for Washington over the next two years.

@ducks2007quack They can negotiate with them and send offers starting July 1st, once free agency opens.

@RonoAnalyst How do offer sheets even work since don’t opposing teams not have the ability to reach out/contact/negotiate with other teams players? How do they send a contract to an RFA?

Dorofeyev has scored 30+ goals in each of the last 2 seasons. Vegas has 15 players signed for next season and ~$14.43M in cap space. Could be a good offer-sheet candidate. If the Golden Knights match, they could run into problems with the other players they still need to sign.

It’s so weird to me that people are still debating about Adam Fox on my timeline. The biggest critics of offensive defensemen always say that a defenseman also has to know how to defend. And if anyone does that, it’s Adam Fox. Elite at both sides of the ice.

There are rumours that the Flyers will extend with Vladař on July 1st. Vladař had a great season, but we all know that goalies are voodoo. I think it would be better to wait before extending his contract. But if it has to happen, I’d prefer a higher AAV and a shorter term.

@FHPQuinn Yeah, you’re right. But imagine if he had the chance to play with someone like Celebrini. I think he would definitely consider it. We’ll see…

When H. Sedin announced that the owner had agreed to a rebuild, I’ll be surprised if Filip Hronek is still a Canucks player in September. It makes sense for Vancouver to trade him. A lot of teams will be interested in him.

I’d honestly prefer even $7.5M per year if it’s really capped at a maximum of 3 years. But a 5-year deal, or so, (even with a lower AAV) is something I wouldn’t really like.

Actually, I don’t want to. I think it’s unnecessary to sign him this early. I’d rather wait and see how he performs during the first half of next season, and then potentially start discussing an extension in ~January. But if it has to happen, then I’d prefer a higher AAV and a shorter term.

@RonoAnalyst @ADiMarco25 @DailyFaceoff You actually want to re-sign Vladar? Guessing it’s just to keep an asset to trade later? He seems to good for your tank methodology.

@kuuuuch___86 The Lightning have not their own 2027 1st round pick. So, no. Or only that offer-sheet, for which you need to pay with the 2nd round pick.

I looked at the teams and their contracts for next season. Bourque, Dorofeyev, and Samoskevich are ideal offer-sheet candidates. Jason Robertson, obviously, as well. I’m curious to see how Jim Nill handles that.
