@RonoAnalyst I just don’t see a world Drysdale is not a 9mil a year guy at this point. Z probably has to be closer to 11-12. I think if he’s a UFA next year and puts up 65+ points he easily gets that
English

@GDePalma04 @SuitableAlias I agree it’s a good value overall. The problem is those are role players. And they can’t replace 1C. That’s why teams want Martone, or Michkov, which at least have a potential to be elite players on their position.
English

@RonoAnalyst @SuitableAlias You’re underestimating the value of all that, I’d be dangling that ‘27 Toronto pick big time (assuming it’s not t10 protected)
English

Prime-aged superstar 1C that hockey people believe "you can win with" will surely come available one of these years!
We're saving ourselves for then!

You know how people talk about unrealistic views of sex? The Flyers have an unrealistic view of roster building. Find an attractive but flawed person to build a connection with? No. Virgin porn star magically appearing in their bed one night? If we're just patient enough!
English

@GDePalma04 @SuitableAlias Imagine you have a 1C, who is also on a great contract. There are only ~15 legit 1Cs in the entire league. And then other team will you offer this package: Tippett, Foerster, York, Bump, 1st ‘27, 1st ‘29. Would you accepted it?
English

@RonoAnalyst @SuitableAlias I think the flyers have enough trade assets where they wouldn’t have to include those two
English

@GDePalma04 @SuitableAlias Very likely yes. And when Thomas was on the market, Brière didn’t acquire him. And if he thinks he’d acquire a 1C without trading Martone or Michkov away, good luck then.
English

@RonoAnalyst @SuitableAlias Only way to get a 1C/1D will be a blockbuster trade
English

@ichhabschnitzel @SuitableAlias It’s not. But it’s much, much higher chance to have a prospect with that potential. What is even worse, the Flyers could’ve had even K. Helenius now…
English

@RonoAnalyst @SuitableAlias That would not have guaranteed getting a 1C or 1D. I don’t like the position of this team right now neither. And Briere could have made some different decisions, but comparing the situation before he took over and after - it drastically improved.
English

@ichhabschnitzel @SuitableAlias He should’ve traded players like Konecny already in 2023/24. It’s his roster. He decided to not go to rebuild and not having more high picks. He’s just doing everything to be a mediocre.
English

@RonoAnalyst @SuitableAlias Isn’t that point defending Briere? I mean he’s obviously trying. So only option would be tanking? With that roster? Not going to happen and should not happen. So it depends on luck by drafting the next Giroux or throwing out OfferSheets (which he now did once)
English

@SuitableAlias It’s actually boring that neither insider or fan, who still defend this Brière’s strategy, didn’t tell us how the Flyers could acquire that 1C…
English

@SuitableAlias Exactly. It’s insane they still think there will be a 1C like Eichel, McDavid, AM34, JH86, Carlsson, Aho, Thomas, Stützle, Celebrini (and so on) on the market and suddenly is traded to the Flyers. Other 31 teams would’ve tried to acquire him as well. Most of them also has a NMC.
English

@RonoAnalyst Because Vancouver doesn't want to eat any of his contract.
English

@RonoAnalyst @renevandervel2 Columbus can't do it until they get Fantilli, Graves, and Sillinger signed. That will take up almost all of their cap space. Vancouver would have to retain or take Elvis back.
English

@renevandervel2 Teams like Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, Philadelphia or Pittsburgh have a cap space.
English

@RonoAnalyst Cause non of the playoff/ contending teams have the cap unless Vancouver retains which they probably don’t want to do
