@SuitableAlias The biggest issue is aside from picks they don’t really have anything to trade. Martone obviously has a ton of value. Michkov should but tocc is doing his best to make sure he doesn’t. If they trade either of them… nothing is left.

I think you can get away without having a 1C or a 1D, but not both.

They need at least 1 more Sanheim level defenseman if not 2. And there really isn't a pathway to getting to that number. It's probably a more existential problem than a 1C. Not that 1C isn't a need. But the forwards at large could grow pretty strong the way they're set up.

Tactically, it'd be a lot easier to skip high-level center play if your defensemen were both great at making longer passes to the wingers and joining the rush for support.

On paper, I don't hate the idea of them having 1 good line and 3 lines of 2nd/3rd line tweeners but they need to have a robust defense to compensate and Sanheim isn't getting any younger. I view Drysdale as his direct replacement, I don't think it's enough.
