The Young human rights lawyer of the year is Tatenda Sigauke. He graduated from UZ in 2015 and works with the Zimbabwe lawyers for human rights.The award recognises lawyers under 35 years who have demonstrated courage and desire to promote and protect of human rights in Zimbabwe.

Prof. Kamba immensely contributed to the development of the legal profession and jurisprudence in Zimbabwe. Tonight's lecture is being delivered by Prof. Fareda Banda of SOAS University of London on the topic ‘Legal Education, Human Rights and Leadership.

This evening, the Law Society of Zimbabwe is hosting its annual Walter Kamba Rule of Law lecture and awards dinner in Harare. The late Professor Kamba was notably the first black Vice Chancellor of the University of Zimbabwe.
