Everybody is talking about “be strong” these days. But nobody talks about how tiring it is to always be the strong one. The one that supports others. The one that figures things out. The one that never breaks down. Who checks on you?

Addiction doesn't start as a problem.
It starts as relief.
That's why it's so hard to let go.

Acts like this are deeply disturbing, but they are often linked to extreme psychological distress, not simple cruelty. Factors can include panic, fear of stigma, denial of pregnancy, lack of support, or severe conditions like Postpartum Psychosis or untreated Postpartum Depression. In such states, judgment, reality testing, and emotional connection can be severely impaired. It doesn’t justify the act, but it helps explain how someone could reach that point.

Why would you give birth to a child and throw it in the dustbin? In Maasai mara university a student gave birth in the birthroom alone at night. After recovering she took the child to the dustbin and left the placenta in the birthroom and later went back to her hostel. Students woke up to the sound of the baby crying in the dustbin.
