Yes of course we would all be saying differently if we won medals. Thats the whole point of this Olympic thing...thats why we spent 25m on it and that is why the amount of funding is linked to performance and winning medals. What a stupid question. Its irrelevant where they train too, thats a pathetic excuse. There's a reason you dont see countries that lack snow in the Winter Olympics because it's costly and that money is usually spent elsewhere. Team GB themselves put an expectation on the amount of medals needed to be won...

We have spent around £24.2 Million on the winter sports funding I think it’s time for a rethink and whether funding these sports are worth it - time after time team GB fail to deliver Money would be better spent elsewhere

This is a stupid argument. You dont need half the world at these Olympics because they arent born into Snow/ice. We choose to spend tens of millions to try and compete despite not having the facilities and its a fair point to say it should maybe be spent elsewhere given the continued failure of GB athletes at Olympic games. That same money thrown into the summer Olympic programme would almost guarantee numerous medals.

All those complaining about Team GB need to remember that unlike a lot of the nations, we are not born on to snow/ice so actually getting there and competing is amazing. The alpine ski team don’t even get any gov funding atm and have to find sponsors #MilanoCortinaOlympic2026
