I feel like I’m in the minority in thinking that Mike doesn’t have internalized homophobia at all. His queer journey is more of a realization that guys are an option and realizing that he has feelings for Will. He’s always pushed back on societal norms and was friends with Will

@savemeordie Also the void scene wasnt even real/happened in Mike's head and could easily have been a manifestation of Mike (like s4) thinking the only way to save her is with love but ultimately concluding that his feelings for her aren't enough

(also, no, say whatever you want but they CAN be canonically broken up and still kiss in the void. el was about to die. final goodbye kiss after the breakup in straight relationships is not that unknown of a thing tbh especially if both parties are still single)
