Today I’ve observed the intersection in #Bangkok where 8 people died in a city bus - train collision. There’s no simple way to solve this. Motor vehicles can’t know the train is coming, barriers are antiquated, pedestrians use tracks as a sidewalk, traffic is congested all day

@WritingByMatt Of course there is a simple answer: light & sound warnings which precedes (by about 30 seconds) the lowering of a barrier. Just like we do in the U.S. This must be the answer because a fully loaded freight train cannot stop within its sight distance.
