@SchwitzerEd @jhallwood I agree. If most of your external wall is made up of floor to ceiling triple glazed windows the fact that they’re insulated isn’t going to stop your flat from becoming a greenhouse when it’s sunny. Lack of greenery, single aspect, etc., all contribute too.

@jhallwood I learnt recently that insulation is meant to also keep heat out in the summer - which if you think about it actually makes total sense, if the inside is cool. So potentially less to do with insulation and more to do with airflow and the design of the windows

Was in a new build insulated flat over Covid, and that heatwave summer. It was horrific, no airflow, roasting. Annoyingly a few people refused to accept it was a problem as if I had somehow denied climate change by saying insulating flats isn’t always great.
