In September, our schools started their @KineticLetters journey (thanks to recommendations from people on here!) The buzz from staff and pupils is amazing. One of our teachers sent this across, demonstrating the progress of a Y6 pupil who has always struggled with handwriting.

@Suchmo83 I’ve done it with the odd slow word reader with strong comprehension as a strategy to use if they’re running out of time and need to pick up a couple of marks quickly in the last 5 minutes but certainly wouldn’t use it as a strategy for all.

I've encountered a few schools using a particular strategy to attempt to boost Y6 reading SATs outcomes:
It involves training the kids to *not* read any of the texts in their entirety and just go straight to the questions and skim the texts only.
