Well, I picked a heck of an evening to go to bed at 9 pm, didn’t I?

In response to a personal attack by President Donald Trump the night before, Pope Leo told journalists on the papal plane to Algeria: “I have no fear of the Trump administration or speaking out loudly of the message of the Gospel, which is what I believe I am here to do, what the Church is here to do. God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.
