$GME You will start seeing your Gamestop accounts come late to the party and start posting $18-21 charts. Totally fine and expected. Not mad, happy about it, but you know I was one of the few acts that pivoted early. Here's why it's a good thing according to psychological game theory 1. Retail and Roaring kitty confluence ($18-20 is DFV. Also $17.70 is final bottom candle from May Markup (confirming my theory) The cat will likely show up here and Retail will be buzzing even before that for an opportunity like this 2. Short funds and Market Makers will look at this area as a good time to stop playing, again deep value support, risk of modifying synthetic swap during a time of slight vol expansion and other players entering the game that could provide large liquidity waves (RK) 3. There is zero risk of any type of corporate action from Gamestop or earnings risk. $18-20 price will assuredly happen post earnings 4. We are in EXTREME vol compression on Gamestop, a move down to $18-20 would move into SLIGHT expansion which leads to DEEP expansion on the markup!

I asked Eli Capiuloto for a statement about the decision to give Mitch Barnhart nearly $2 million more in salary from his original contract upon retirement. They sent me this statement: “Mitch Barnhart is the most successful athletics director in UK history, from six national championships to historic levels of academic performance among our students. His long-term contract always contemplated a role at the university and that he would be compensated by Athletics after he stepped down as AD. And that contract has always been public.    “What has changed is clarity and purpose. Rather than a vague, undefined post‑AD role, Mitch now has a clearly structured position that allows him to deliver real impact: co‑leading a university‑wide initiative to strengthen Kentucky’s workforce, specifically by growing and supporting the sports‑related workforce in our state. Few people in the country are better positioned to do that work than Mitch, given his decades of leadership, national reputation and contacts, and deep understanding of the industry.   “His compensation is in line with what comparable institutions have paid for similar transitions — and the role itself is more robust, more accountable, and more critical to the university’s mission. Importantly, this does not detract from the Athletics Department’s capacity in any way.   “In June, the UK Board of Trustees authorized an internal university loan of up to $110 million for athletics to invest in facilities and future growth as well as up $31 million in operational funds for athletics. The idea is to help ensure our success and the standards of excellence our fans expect. We are investing in the success of UK Athletics more than ever before because it is so crucial to UK and our mission to advance Kentucky.”   – Jay Blanton

@smuffyburner @Hogdale_ Yeah, agreed. And I’m not sure it would be longterm bad if they can construct a better league from the ashes. I don’t even know what that looks like, tbh. It’s certainly going to be a challenge.

Mark Pope on why the team made the decision to watch the selection show privately, setting the tone to have "the best possible chance to make a magical run": "I felt it was really important that it was just our team, just our locker room. It's the only moment we've had the entire season where it's just been us. It gave us an evening to have some very personal, private conversations. To take a moment of what they've endured so far this year."

I know Santa Clara played Gonzaga pretty close & their strengths are what we’ve struggled against. But if seeing all these national guys picking us to lose doesn’t make the team play for pride then I don’t know what else will. No excuses accepted. Survive and advance

@RossKeyser Watch March 10, game against Gonzaga. They’re disruptive & look scattered—what they’re doing disrupts your offensive sets & stop flow of game. If their shots don’t fall it’s ok—but when they get hot from 3 it’s an issue. I think we can win but not if we fall behind in the 1st lol

@crodiela8 @jwgain01 @TristanUda Using March as a measuring stick of success and happiness is pretty stupid though, tbh. The results are very luck driven re: actually winning the thing. Even at the end of Cal's tenure they won a lot.

@RossKeyser @jwgain01 @TristanUda I get it because we have been stacking years that aren’t the standard at UK since covid (even before that too), but the amount of bashing of individual players and coaches is wild. It won’t change until there’s a consistent winner though.

KenPom predicts Kentucky 81-79 over Santa Clara on Friday The turnover numbers for both teams really pop out to me. With how Kentucky has turned it over, that could play into the Broncos’ hands

@thefuturezguy @GrandonBarrison Well, you look like an odds guy. Looks like the sharps took advantage of a short line bc SC isn’t a bad matchup for UK. Went from 2 to 4.5 which is now closer to 6/11 spread. I dunno. I’m happy w the opponent all things considered.

Something that makes Santa Clara different than some mid-majors is their size. 33rd in average height across the country. 7'1" sophomore center Bukky Oboye is an excellent backstop at the rim. 44th in individual block percentage nationally, per KenPom.
