Jews are under attack at campuses. If you or someone you know is a Jewish student or prospective student at a school that has refused to protect its Jews, you can reach out to Dhillon Law Group to fight back. Contact me at JRoth@DhillonLaw.com.

I'm gonna become a firearms history nerd, like the kind who can identify the difference between percussion caps on 1853 Enfields and 1861 Springfields. Need books to aid me in my nerdery, from matchlocks to the present.

Fundamental rule: never let the psycho revolutionaries get away with claiming to be anything other than a psycho revolutionary. They aren't catholic, they aren't Jewish, they aren't protestant, they aren't poor, they aren't nationalist, they aren't anti-imperialist, they are anti-racist: they are revolutionaries.

Anyone who tells you "the Catholics are the problem" is as stupid as someone who tells you "the Jews are the platform" or "it's the Evangelicals who are the problem."

@HAHazony I agree that it's like a fever in the process of breaking. It's bloating out it's premise to a distended, ridiculous degree. The grotesqueness is a sign of ill health for this movement, not vitality.

I think people are reading this wrong. Anti-semitism is less virulent now than it has been in 2 years. Seems to be getting better every day.
David/Dovid Bashevkin@DBashIdeas

Some thoughts. Not sure if anything actually changed but today felt like a genuine escalation in anti-Semitic rhetoric that we haven’t see in the mainstream for some time. Blaming Jews for starting wars was the battle cry of Nazi Germany. Hitler explicitly justified the Holocaust bc of this libel. As absurd and even hilarious as the antisemites might be it is also seriously frightening. Society has very little room left to save itself before truly descending into some unthinkably dark places. As I’ve repeated: The purpose of Judaism is not to fight antisemitism, we fight antisemitism in order to focus on the purpose of Judaism. I know some really bad people posed the q, but that’s not an excuse: we need to have answers. So, what is the Jewish vision for the State of Israel? What is our vision for the future of Judaism? These are genuinely important questions—not for antisemites but for ourselves. Now is the time to really think and consider what is your vision of redemption? What is your vision for a Jewish State? We need to have the answer for these questions or, God forbid, our enemies will. The Jewish People will survive. נצח ישראל לא ישקר Not everyone will be able to stop antisemites or influence global politics but there is a step everyone can take to bring themselves a little closer to the Jewish People and God’s unbreakable covenant. As the Rebbe said, “if you know aleph, teach aleph.” Start living the Judaism of your dreams right now. עם ישראל חי

@JackSlackMMA If you enjoy epic narrative history, I heavily recommend Shelby Foote's history of the U.S. Civil War as well. Three volumes; absolutely gripping with cutting character portraits and compelling depictions of the battles.

If Iran War II happens and the regime is unseated over Purim, I'm commissioning a sefer torah for an Israeli community and conceding we're living in biblical times.

@kilovh The difference between an LLM and an axe is the habits that you build. You do not converse with your ax, and are not reinforcing any particular discursive behavior when you use your ax. However when you converse with an LLM you are etching a groove in your brain. Choose wisely.

I think as a moral point, if that's what Kant indeed says, Kant is right. The question becomes, is it rude not to say thank you to my axe when I go wood chopping? Why does not saying thank you to an LLM differ? Is cruelty to animals an instance of the same, or different?

The academic model for understanding Israel is fundamentally Eurocentric. It filters all global histories through the lens of European expansion beginning in the 16th century, treating “modernity” as a uniquely European phenomenon to which all other histories must conform. As a result, Jewish return to the Land of Israel—a civilizational act of indigenous reattachment and continuity—is misread as a colonial intrusion, simply because it falls outside the temporal frame of European modernity. Jews are cast as “Europeans,” despite their rootedness in the Middle East, while Arab and Islamic projects that seek to reignite imperial entitlements are framed as anti-colonial resistance. This inversion only makes sense within a Eurocentric periodization that erases the longue durée of Middle Eastern history. Arab colonialism is rendered invisible because it precedes and exceeds European colonial timelines, while Jewish indigeneity is delegitimized because it is “too old” to count. In this frame, only European actions generate historical meaning—everything else is either a reaction or an anachronism. The result is a distorted moral geography in which only those who fit the mold of modern, post-1492 resistance movements are granted legitimacy—while Jews, whose return expresses a far older structure of peoplehood, law, and land, are denied even the language to describe themselves.

"For decades, most U.S. colleges and universities have been largely tax exempt. Yet President Trump has called for the revocation of Harvard University’s 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, in part because of its “DEI” practices. Will this work?" Read more from Krista Baughman: fedsoc.org/commentary/fed…

Celebrating 7 years of marriage to the most wonderful man in the world! Our rabbi recently said, "If you want to know if someone is a righteous man, ask his wife." I can tell you that seven years later, my husband has only proven himself to be more and more a righteous man. I'm so grateful we get to spend our lives together, build a family together, and raise our children with the values we've fought hard to develop as a couple. Love you, @RothThePatriot 💕

SOMETHING IS IN THE WATER @ UNIV OF ILLINOIS, CHICAGO The double murderer Elias Rodriguez was a graduate of UIC. UIC is famously antisemitic, hostile to Jewish students (Jewish students know this so they selectively avoid UIC) and a hotbed for pro-Hamas activity. We currently represent SEVERAL professors at UIC who have similar @USEEOC charges pending (cc: @andrealucasEEOC ). Time for a federal civil rights investigation into UIC. *** Who is Elias Rodriguez, the suspect identified in Capital Jewish Museum shooting? forward.com/fast-forward/7…
