Is there a technical reason that data centers need to be placed here and there? I'm sure there is, otherwise why not just build a mega data city in some agreeable jurisdiction with lots of water for cooling, etc. I'm guessing it's slight lag in data transmission over distance.

If Pizza Hut can return, then we can resurrect Blockbuster. And we should. While Netflix made things more “convenient” we lost something irreplaceable: The ritual of going to a place with your family or friends to choose a story together. That experience was special.

@allowance1551 @tsarlet2 Because young people are driving less than ever, nobody wants to walk 30 to 45 minutes to the nearest grocery store and nobody wants to sit in 15 minutes of traffic to go to a coffee shop on the other side of the freeway. I moved to the former to escape the latter.
