🤔 We do not know if H5N1 is mainly spreading through close contact (handling cow’s milk) or respiratory droplets from cows. A CDC study found cow’s mammary tissue had higher much viral concentrations than other tissues tested. wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/30…

Avian flu H5N1 story in cattle starting emerge - does indeed look like a single origin cattle outbreak and if emergence in Dec is robust, probably lots of opportunity for geographical spread (not much metadata available to be sure of this though)
