The reason: his unconventional aerodynamic riding position and bike setup. According to the UCI, the way Van Schip held his handlebars violated equipment regulations. But his team insists everything was approved and documented beforehand. Teammates and staff even called the decision “pure harassment.”

Also, Pretti wasn't shot for spitting at ICE agents or smashing a tail light or resisting arrest or running back at agents after they let him go or impeding agents engaged with someone else. Pretti was shot because, while committing all these crimes, he was carrying a concealed handgun and during a struggle, at least one officer perceived the imminent threat of harm or death. Whether that officer was reasonable in his perception will be determined by additional evidence, including body cam footage and testimony. What is indebatable though, is that Pretti was a guy who sought out physical conflict with ICE and carried a gun while doing so. You're an ignoramus if you don't see how his own actions caused his demise.

There is no judge in America that would sentence a man to death for kicking out a tail light and spitting on the closed window of a vehicle. Yet 99% of MAGA now says a death sentence is exactly what was deserved. Even if that death sentence was carried out 11 days later, with no court order, no jury trial, no verdict and no warrant. Wow. MAGA is now utterly and completely lawless and suffering from "mob rage" mentality. At this point, there's no one they won't justify killing from here forward.
