Last Friday, I took Sulaiman and Bilqees to Friday prayers at the mosque.. A small thing. But it meant something: Friday prayer happens midday. When your kids are in school, they often miss praying at the mosque. That's just how it is. I missed it for years growing up. Most Muslim kids do. I never questioned it. Now my two can come with me because of homeschooling. They sat there, listened to the khutbah, and prayed alongside everyone else. It got me thinking. In business, in careers, we trundle along with the status quo more than we realise. I never thought Jum'ah with my kids was even a possibility. Now it's a much more regular occurrence.
