Yep Leam got Wigan up but his style / team wasn’t sustainable at a higher level.
Zero point spending years in L1 to go up & come straight back down

Look at the crowd we drew in then Division 2 (L1); player attacking front foot football with players and a manager who cared about the club - @RCouhig @ToddTrosclair @catania_rick15 you won't see this with Leam in charge - get him gone #readingfc

Incredible game Wednesday night at Boreham Wood, end to end is an understatement, some fabulous football and only one goal scored, sadly not by us. But I didn’t feel sad after this game, I couldn’t - if I wanted to, we were so incredible, the skill and the effort on display, was just stunning - it overwhelmed the result. And that’s been our season for the most part, great football, excitement and fun - back at FGR. Big thanks to @RobbieSavage8 @for that and to Mark (and to @_AsifRehmanwala ) - I sound like Robbie now…:). And to our players who gave their all. And to our fans who’ve been fantastic all season long and especially (like everyone else) last night in the biggest game of our season. Next season is just weeks away and we’ll do better again, I know we will, you can see it. #WEAREFGR

@_Luke1871 Unless it’s the ultimate bluff, from what I’ve heard / read, RC has already made clear LR is his man & backing him so although I’d love to see the corner flag post that he’s gone…we’ll be made to wait till he stinks the place out next season & inevitably then leaves Oct/Nov!

As we’re approaching what needs to be a huge summer, we must hear from Rob Couhig asap to provide clarity, as to who will be managing Reading next season!
We must start preparations early to fight for automatic promotion and build a healthy and consistent team #readingfc

@JRSRoyal1871 @TheTilehurstEnd Obv not had a chance at a higher level but he’s exactly the sort of personality that would galvanise the club, he believes in youth & plays attacking football. He’d bring back some joy!
With an experienced coaching team following his lead it might not be as mad as it sounds

@TheTilehurstEnd Sounds mental, but I'd take Robbie Savage as manager over Richardson. His win rate so far is decent 64.2% I know, I know lower leagues & all that but we could give him a chance. Surely couldn't be any worse, I wonder what his style of football is like at Forest Green? #readingfc

✅ ⚽️ style that can work in L1 & Champ..why grind out of L1 to go straight back down?
✅ Able to attract players on their way up
✅ Able to improve players
✅ Embrace our academy
✅ Likeable - players wanna play 4 him & able to unite / excite fans

Just appalling. There's nothing there - no spirit, no ideas.
Injury list doesn't help, but it also doesn't account for just how vacuous performances have gotten.
The stability argument is usually a decent one, but it's well overshadowed by how uninspiring Leam Richardson is.
Time to go.
