Unfortunately HIV takes a toll on the smallest bodies. One young girl, an infant, has died due to HIV and AIDS related complications. While we want to avoid hysteria but more we know about HIV the better. The government must release data as public information and begin a radical public service program. Testing people from village to village and releasing messaging on phones, television and social media to increase awareness. Private individuals can only do so much.

@BhuttoZulfikar Important message and true spirit of Eid. Children living with HIV and patients facing unnecessary isolation deserve dignity, care and inclusion — not stigma. Eid teaches us compassion, humanity and standing with everyone. Eid Mubarak. 🤍

Eid Ul Adha Mubarak to all Muslims and especially my brethren in Pakistan. May Allah SWT accept your sacrifice. Today I cannot help but think of the many children in hospitals in Khairpur and larkana who are HIV positive. Remember them in your prayers. I think of the patients in Punjab who under draconian laws are being isolated unnecessarily. Keep them in your prayers. A kind word, a warm embrace and sharing a meal are all part of Eid. Do not exclude HIV positive people from this process. HIV cannot be spread through touch, spit or even open wounds. May Allah bless you all and keep you safe.

BISP CHAIRPERSON SENATOR RUBINA KHALID AND SECRETARY AMER ALI AHMAD MEET GOVERNOR STATE BANK JAMEEL AHMAD IN KARACHI; DISCUSS DIGITAL WALLET PAYMENTS AND INTEROPERABILITY MECHANISM Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Senator Rubina Khalid and Secretary BISP Amer Ali Ahmad met with the Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Jameel Ahmad, in Karachi. The meeting focused on BISP payments through Digital Wallets in line with the PM’s Cashless Economy vision and the implementation of the interoperability mechanism. Chairperson BISP stated that, under the special directions of the President of Pakistan and the Prime Minister’s vision for a cashless economy, BISP is advancing towards digitizing beneficiary payments through Digital Wallets. She further informed that the process of free mobile SIMs distribution has been expedited and awareness campaigns strengthened so that beneficiaries who have not yet received SIMs may collect them from their nearest BISP offices before June 15, 2026. Highlighting interoperability, Senator Rubina Khalid said the initiative will ensure ease, transparency and empowerment by enabling beneficiaries to withdraw payments from any bank of their choice, thereby enhancing accessibility and financial inclusion. Governor State Bank Jameel Ahmad assured full cooperation in implementing the interoperability mechanism for the facilitation of BISP beneficiaries.
