The discussion we need to be having is what public norms should be and what consequences are appropriate for violations of those norms, not whether the norms and consequences should be applied uniformly vs. selectively.

I want to know why there's a war on Beef (and other Red Meats like Pork and Lamb). Growing up, Red Meat was a staple to our diets. We were all heathier looking back then too. Since the shift to poultry/fish diets - everybody is getting Fat. It's been on-going for decades but seems to be ramping up to affect Cattle Ranchers and Small Farms. The American Heart Association claims that it's the "Saturated fat" that's unhealthy not the actual lean meat. It's actually healthier because of B12 and Iron; which a lot of Americans lack because it's more expensive to buy. My son went to the VA recently and was told that he needs to avoid Red Meat because he's getting a hardening of his arteries. Let's be clear here, he's medically retired and was forced to get the Covid Jab to keep his job. Doctors at the VA seem to be falling in line with Blame the meat vs the Shot mentality. He's been on a fish/poultry diet for months and has gained a lot of weight since getting out of the Army. He's stressed out because he's working out, he's on a daily routine and is barely making a dent in the weight he's gained. He's making slow progress. I keep telling him that all the Gym Bros swear by a red meat diet because it takes more energy to burn that protein off; which means a work out is doing more. Am I wrong here? @Buchana1A @Renaissance_Man @DeAngelisCorey I think most men don't feel threatened by a biological female using the stall next to them, so the issue is rarely raised even on the rare chance it does occur. Gender segregated bathrooms/locker/changing rooms are not in general put in to protect men.

@Renaissance_Man @DeAngelisCorey It's strange that you never see little girls pretending to be boys and pushing their way into the boys' bathroom. I don't think I've ever heard of a situation happening. It's always the pretend girls pushing their way into real girls spaces.

I once had to reassure a (very broke) man that I adored that a £50 ring was absolutely fine and that I wanted to marry him more than I wanted an expensive ring. Sure enough he proposed with said ring, I adored it, I showed it off to everyone, and it did not matter one bit how much it cost. This relationship didn’t work out for other external reasons but at least it wasn’t because I would accept nothing less than a mined 3ct ring. He should run.

@discolando Hasn't it always been difficult? But I get that the bar has risen. A lot. I remember back when there were games I thought were awesome that had janky controls, maybe two characters to choose, no customization, and a plot line like "A woman was kidnapped! Go punch people!"

I’m seeing a number of people dunking on the new Starfield update, calling it the “NMS Update” or the “TEMU Star Citizen Patch” and whatnot and I just think it’s cool they’re still pushing and evolving. Making games of this caliber is absurdly hard these days. That they continue forward when so many cut and run today should, in my opinion, be celebrated without the unnecessary slights. If more people finally give space games a try because Starfield, NMS, Jump Ship, Astroneer, and more keep evolving, then it helps us all. ❤️

@AutismCapital There's a lot to play with in the alpha. Tbh it's pretty near beta at this point, not many core gameplay elements/systems left. Expanding content and debugging will take a little longer. SQ42 is getting pretty near for the first chapter, though.

Does anyone actually play Star Citizen? Has it delivered anything or did it just eat up $950M of naive gamers money since 2012? Is it actually a game? Is it even in "beta" yet after 14 years of development?

@CultistCorasahn I don't know. I've heard some people had issues with them. I don't understand the mechanism of how it would cause atherosclerosis.

@Rquebus So you don’t think the Covid shot has contributed in any way?

@CultistCorasahn Looking back I realize a lot of that isn't specific to arterial hardening/plaque. I wouldn't expect chicken by itself to drive an LDL/"bad cholesterol" spike or anything like that.

@CultistCorasahn Overall that's one of the big weight gain drivers in the US I think, we like to eat like lumberjacks but we wirk mostly desk jobs and spend lots of time staring at our phones. But if he's meal prepping I'm guessing he's already being proactive in that front.
