@rupamurthy1 Those who are calling it vulgar are actually those who believe in toxicity and keeping the females of the family under their control. They have never experienced an equal environment, nor they believe in one. These are those insecure people who are threatened by everything.

When a sweet, affectionate dance video of a grown daughter and her father is labelled “vulgar” or “against family values,” something is deeply wrong. When empowered and independent women are met with boycott calls instead of respect, it reflects insecurity, not culture. When women’s education, financial independence, or freedom to live life on their own terms is treated as a threat, society moves backwards. A sect that sexualises normal affection, fears independent women, and silences women is not protecting “values” or “dharma.” It is not building a nation. It is slowly destroying it. Dharma was never meant to stand for insecurity, control, or public humiliation. Twisha Sharma's mother in law is the shameless face of internalized patriarchy in its worst form - a retired judge. A woman in position of power, is meant to give hope to countless girls looking for representation and a shot at fair defense. Today, she's unabashedly hating on the dead DIL about not caring for "plants", not "supervising cooking" , is suggesting there was sure a "problem" if an adult woman wanted to terminate her pregnancy (not that it needs a defense, but the irony is that the MIL's stories only affirm it was an unhappy marriage making it a VERY logical choice against a child), is calling it her right to know the DIL's sexual past and suggesting it was normal to ask the married DIL about her intent for fidelity! If this is Garibala Singh's polished public side, one can only imagine the painful extent of harrasment Twisha must have gone through... The thing I'm thankful for, is that lady is so arrogant that she decided she would come before the media and use her lawyer-ing smarts. A country that is done with letting their daughters get sacrificed into the households of such heartless in-laws, sees this lady bare along with her son. Had this judge/ MIL not spoken up and exposed herself, this case would have died for lack of technical evidence. Today, the human wisdom of a public sees through her shameless rhetoric and will come together to demand Justice for #TwishaSharma beyond the ease that technicals could offer Garibala Singh. A retired judge who miraculously had her anticipatory bail in hand before the family's FIR was registered in Garibala's local police station, after taking 3 days!

#UPDATE | The CBI has registered a case in this matter under Sections 80(2), 85, and 3(5) of the BNS, as well as Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. According to the FIR, the deceased was married to Samarth Singh on December 9, 2025. Since the marriage, allegations have been levelled against the in-laws' family regarding harassment over dowry. The complaint states that Twisha was subjected to continuous mental and physical harassment. The individuals named as accused in this case are Giribala Singh (Mother-in-law) and Samarth Singh (Husband). As per the FIR, information regarding Twisha's death was received around 10:20 PM on the night of May 12, 2026. Police and medical examinations revealed that the woman died due to hanging. The post-mortem report confirmed "antemortem hanging"—indicating that the hanging occurred while the victim was alive. Additionally, injury marks were found on other parts of the body, which were deemed to have been caused by a heavy object or physical assault. According to the FIR, the deceased's family has alleged that demands for additional dowry had been made ever since the marriage took place. The Government of Madhya Pradesh transferred the case to the CBI, granting its consent under Section 6 of the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act. Subsequently, on May 25, 2026, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) of the Central Government issued a notification, empowering the CBI to conduct investigations throughout the entire state of Madhya Pradesh. The CBI will now investigate charges of dowry death, harassment, criminal conspiracy, and other potential offences in this case.
