I found that when I prompted GPT to explicitly: - Push back on my assumptions. - Challenge my reasoning when it’s weak or incomplete. - Avoid validation, flattery, or default agreement. - Expose blind spots and opportunity costs. - Operate as a high-level strategic advisor, not a passive assistant. It improved output quality. Friction when it’s warranted because the standard mo. This garnered good intellectual tension, instead of comfortable compliance.

I broke up with ChatGPT. I used it every single day for over a year. It helped me research deep dives for YouTube. It helped me write frameworks for Project Kyzen. It became part of how I think, how I work, and how I build. And then I did something most people refuse to do... I tested the assumption.

Most enterprises say they want AI at scale. But what they actually want is AI that: - doesn't change decision rights - doesn't erode traditional power structures - doesn't forces operating model redesigns Sadly, that version, simply doesn't exist. Layering autonomous intelligence on top of legacy decision rights, governance structures and operating models, just doesn't work. AI scales when accountability moves. Until then, it’s theatre.

I used to think performance was about talent. It isn't. It's about clarity, consistency and ruthless execution. Two elite teams. World class engineers. Similar budgets. Same competitive arena. One compounds dominance, while the other continually resets. The difference isn't people. It's operating model. One side commits to a clear strategy and runs it with ruthless discipline for years. Accountability is sharp. Execution is industrialised and improvements are systematic. The other one optimises for change. New leaders with new priorities and new narratives. Momentum dies with every reset. Strategy only works when it's stable long enough to compound. Execution only scales when ownership is unambiguous. Performance only compounds when coherence beats heroics. Most companies don't fail because they lack talent. They fail because they lack alignment. Alignment allows clarity, discipline and execution to compound. That's how advantage is built.

Africa won't compete in AI by copying Silicon Valley playbooks. There's no luxury for 3-year experimentation cycles, bloated platforms or fragmented ownership. The opportunity is in AI industrialisation. 1. Fewer use cases 2. Tied directly to P&L 3. Embedded into how work actually gets done Constraint is an advantage when you design for it.

They will be the enterprises who redesign how value and trust is created and governed. Technology follows power. Always has.

Apple + Google isn't just a deal. It's the creation of the first true AI super-platform. Apple owns the body (devices, OS, distribution, trust) Google owns the mind (models, data, learning loops, reach) Together, they become the default interface between humans and intelligence. Everyone else will just be renting cognition.

Agentic AI is not the next use case wave. For the first time enterprises are being confronted with an uncomfortable truth. Who is allowed to decide, act, escalate and terminate without human permission? Most AI roadmaps collapse right here. The technology is ready. The decision rights are not.

Most AI initiatives don't fail because of models, data or tooling. They fail because enterprises try to add AI to an operating model that was never designed to absorb it. AI is not a capability upgrade. It's an organisational redesign problem. Until leaders confront that, scale will remain elusive.

The next era of AI will not be won by the most elegant code, but by those who can sustain massive fixed costs, absorb regulatory pressure and operate under geopolitical scrutiny. This is no longer about "which model is the best?". It's now all about "who can stay in the ring long enough to matter?" AI can no longer be delegated to technology teams. It is now a board-level capital allocation decision. And the winners? Well, the winners of the next decade will not be those who experimented early, but those who industrialise intelligence at scale.
