@CavanMonaghanH1 is the only level 3 hospital nationally without interns (as far as we know). It has been assessed by Intern network as having excellent training opportunities. We have tried to get interns on many occasions, this time only to be rug pulled at the eleventh hour while at advanced stages.
@NDTP_HSE interns are allocated interns to several private institutions while our public hospital has none.
@NDTP_HSE have increased the numbers on interns during COVID nationally by an extra 140 again bypassing @CavanMonaghanH1.
The quoted bottle neck in medical student allocations is not the university capacity but the number of intern spots available. @NormaFoleyTD1 @SimonHarrisTD
Thank you both @BrendanSmithTD and @NiamhSmythTD for standing up for your hospital, and for @DonnellyStephen for your consideration.

HSE should ensure assignment of interns and trainee doctors to Cavan Monaghan Hospital.
Hospital has the training opportunities and facilities and important for the further development of health services locally.

📢 European doctors cannot accept that the #EHDS will place further administrative burden on small medical practices, taking them away from patient care during a #HealthWorkforce crisis

We are shocked and appalled at HSE plans to implement a recruitment freeze among a wide range of healthcare staff NCHDs. This decision will inevitably impact negatively on patient care.

#Budget2024 is a missed opportunity to invest in our health services.
Another difficult year for patients as there will be little or no improvement in capacity, services or waiting lists

On #WorldPatientSafetyDay we call on the Government to take immediate action on the key issues that are negatively impacting on patient safety in Ireland where we have too few doctors, too few beds, significant levels of overcrowding and unacceptable delays in waiting for care.

This is WRONG on so many levels. NCHDs already work unsafe and illegal working hours. No employer has the right to behave in this way. IMO are demanding that this practice cease immediately. #standingUP4NCHDs
