@Dan_Kinghorn77 Wow. That's amazing! ​You know, I do tend to envy the old ways of homesteading. I might be looking at it with rose-tinted glasses, but I feel that the honest work, waking up with a purpose, and just thriving and surviving with your group were much simpler times.

@RummingBum Yes! They had the biggest Dream Americans ever had to dream! Find a plot of land and claim it and stay there till you had a building built on the land. And they owned it! My relatives in this area have been here since those days of homesteading.

@RummingBum I don’t think suffering is something we should glorify. But if there’s one thing it does, it’s force you to see life without illusions. You stop chasing what doesn’t matter and start appreciating things you once overlooked. That’s a perspective that’s hard to gain any other way.

What’s something everyone should experience at least once?

@jacktogon I don't think it truly matters in the grand scheme of things. If anything, what should be removed is the green shoot inside of the clove because it may develop a bitter flavor the older the garlic gets.
