Today's news is a little weird. So the solution. Help someone. Spend some time with family or friends. Pray. Read the Bible. It's a good solution every day.

@Fair_and_Biased It's strange to watch, but once someone goes Israel Last, they become utterly obsessed with Israel.

@SamoBurja I think you're confusing being happy with the Pope when he agrees with them.

It is notable how the Pope is the only religious authority in the world that wields intellectual authority even among secular people. No one secular cares what the Bishop of Canterbury or the Grand Ayatollah have to say.

📌 "The U.S. has been ATTACKED many times over the last 30 years with horrific terrorist attacks—do you know how many of them have come from Iranian or Shia terrorists?" @ggreenwald asks MAGA apologist. The answer? "ZERO!" (Even the Jubilee fact-checkers agreed.)

You didn't address the Mamdani angle to the question. I can get behind progressive capitalism 100%. I can't get behind progressive socialism at all. The kind that censors dissenting views and seeks to just punish the rich rather than celebrate our job makers. The Democratic Party feels way more the latter than the former these days. Also, unfair primaries that pushed out RFK. It's a mess.

A Memorial Day Prayer On this Memorial Day, we come to you and thank you for those who courageously laid down their lives for the cause of freedom. May the example of their sacrifice inspire us in the path of the selfless love of you Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. May their bravery embolden us to be brave and live our lives in a way worthy of their sacrifice and your sacrifice. We are thankful for the role they played in giving us the opportunity we have to truly live in freedom. May we live in a way that their sacrifice was not in vain. Bless the families of our fallen troops. Fill their home and their lives with your strength and peace. And when those dark moments of sorrow come, remind them of the courage and bravery their loved one showed. The love showered on them through the action of total sacrifice. Spark in all of us the courage to answer the call to work for peace and justice so that more of our brothers and sisters, sons and daughter don’t have to join these ranks. But when that time comes that we must stand up for another, fill us with the necessary grit and fortitude. We are eternally grateful for those who have responded to the call to give it all. We pray through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

@OrevaZSN Nothing to do with fairness It results in inefficient economy and stifling innovation. Much better to have 1 million millionaires vs 1 trillionaire.

Never before in history have billionaires existed at this scale. Billionaires hoard wealth that could solve hunger, housing, and healthcare crises; their existence is not a sign of success but of selfishness and systemic failure.

@OrevaZSN The wealth you think is being hoarded is actually being deployed to build more wealth. Scrooge McDuck wasn't a real person.

@ali36c @baldguymoney @OrevaZSN And government's like the LA government will oversee this distribution? The government corruption is just as big of a problem as the billionaires. If there is a tax, don't start government programs with it. Just give it to people to see them use it how they see fit.

@baldguymoney @OrevaZSN McKenzie Scott has donated 26 billion still has a net worth around 34 billion I’m not saying they should destabilize the world economy just a little bit of distribution for food health care housing

@Seferyn @RobertMSterling What they did during the COVID era was to censor people to make sure that you didn't even see thoughts outside of the pre-approved Pharma/government bubble.

All true. It makes some sense in context, because being in the entertainment industry in New York City, 95% of the people he hangs out with are very liberal. I think he felt like he was being a true patriot. A lot of the far-left people think they're doing a courageous thing by fighting Trump nonstop. They truly believe all of the stuff that they're saying. And most of the people around them tend to agree.

The tragedy of Stephen Colbert is that he really is a brilliant comedic talent and—according to those who know him in real life—a kind and thoroughly decent man. He could have maintained his liberal political beliefs while ring-fencing them from the Late Show and no one would have cared. Instead, though, he sold out, electing to become little more than a regime-media court jester, a funny man’s Rachel Maddow. He chose pandering to an actuarially decaying audience of geriatric shitlibs over remaining funny to a broad and politically inclusive audience, and he ultimately paid the price through declining relevance, reduced ratings. and decimated advertising revenue. It would be tragic, if it weren’t so completely well deserved.

@Tara_lyn1 @Seferyn @RobertMSterling I understand how people on the pathway to radicalization would feel this way. Colbert's humor is grounded in an honest, sane perspective on the corrupted political landscape in the US.

I always find it weird that people delete mean comments that they made to me during the COVID era but don't bother to try and be nice to me about it. Maybe a "I'm sorry for being mean to you." Nope. Just enough shame to delete old comments. Not enough to apologize.

I used Google Search, commentaries, and PreceptAustin to help before AI came about. Search has become useless these days for some reason. I started out writing manuscripts by hand in the 90s, then I moved to using a computer. Technology helped speed things up a little, although I hear that I process differently if I'm handwriting things. Maybe that step was a sin. Now, I run my message through AI to help find redundancies. I ask AI to find news stories that may fit a certain theme. I'll ask it to help me come up with a transition. I ask it to scour commentaries to give me an insight on a passage. These were all things we did before. It just took longer without AI. They aren't the spiritual meat and potatoes. I would never cede that over to AI. I don't think AI could write a good sermon from scratch though. I've asked it to write some just to see what it comes up with. Bad theology (although maybe right for someone). But it's a useful tool. Maybe rather than blanketly saying AI is bad, we should consider the helpful ways it can help. FYI, I did not use AI at all in writing this post. @JoshuaLisec, you may have some thoughts on all of this.

Genuinely excited for this. The future of sports. At some point "enhanced" v. "non-enhanced" will be a trivial distinction, like how we think of the purity of "amateur" athletes now. Meaningless. Among other things, we are going to learn a lot about human population groups. My hunch is, rather than flattening current population-level differences in performance across domains––dominant West African sprinters eg––we're going to discover how different populations respond to different kinds of drugs/treatments. In some sense, genetics will become an even more important determinant for success, just not in the ways we might expect. Also, incredibly valuable for medicine/longevity research. All good things. Anyway, really does feel like THE FUTURE™ has lately become suddenly apparent in all sorts of different ways. This is one.
Enhanced Games@enhanced_games

The schedule is set. The athletes are ready. The future of sport begins in Las Vegas. From world-record pursuits in swimming to historic lifts in weightlifting, explosive speed on the track, and live artist performances throughout the night, the #EnhancedGames are built for one thing: pushing entertainment and human performance to the limit. May 24, 2026 | Don’t miss a minute of the action.

NEW - Jeffrey Epstein claimed Bill Gates caught an STD from 'Russian girls' and then asked for antibiotics to secretly give to his then-wife Melinda, according to a 2013 email Epstein sent to himself. Epstein wrote that he was "dismayed beyond comprehension" by Gates's decision to "disregard our friendship developed over the last 6 years." "TO add insult to the injury you them implore me to please delete the emails regarding your std, your request that I provide you antibiotics that you can surreptitiously give to Melinda and the description of your penis." "I suggest I buy you the house that you so had your heart set on and in addition to five years of severance will buy you out of the investment contract we had agree, 30-40 percent of a hundred million dollar partnership." In another email Epstein sent to himself, written as if from the perspective of Gates's then-top advisor Boris Nikolic, Epstein writes: "From helping Bill to get drugs, in order to deal with consequences of sex with russian girls, to facilitating his illicit trysts, with married women, to being asked to provide adderall for bridge tournaments..."
